Adam Oates – a hockey greatest mind that failed miserably at Washington with prime Ovechkin, Backstrom and other great players. Couldnt even make playoffs one season. Yeah, he is #1😄

Lamoriello always said Scott Stevens was an amazing teacher. Maybe they should ask Scott, who I believe still lives in NJ, if he'd be interested. Even if Im the softest player on the Devils Im playing as hard as I can knowing that badass mofo is waiting for me behind the bench if I dont. Brindamour would be good too.

I will say this, I thought we should focus on defense and offensive depth and grit. I wasn’t big on trading some of these guys for a goalie, but this Carolina series really shows what a vanacek will do to your team come playoffs. Need a good goalie and defense. Will be at thunder game tomorrow
I wouldn't count on it but if Brind'Amour becomes available, I'd try to sign him. That team definitely played hard. They didn't have any reliable or consistent scoring or a winning goalie.
At this point I'd give Kevin Dineen a chance. Better that than recycle these nondescript plastic bottles like Todd McLellan or Jay Woodcroft. No thanks.

Signing McDermid to a 3 year 1.2AAV is a f**** joke!!! Fitz needs to be fired. Mcdermid contributed zero to this team. We could have brought in two larger skilled players instead of wasting over a million a year on a useless player.

Oates hasn't gotten a job offer in awhile so im wondering how much of a savant he is. He couldn't even get a interim title the last time. He was co coach with Scott Stevens.
"I think this is the right hire for the Maple Leafs,” said TSN host Carlo Colaiacovo, who played for Berube in Philadelphia. “What it says is the Maple Leafs are preparing for a culture change. We've seen it, the country club, the coddling of players. I'll tell you right now, with Berube behind the bench, there won't be any of that.”
Colaiacovo, speaking on TSN Radio, said Berube was one his favourite coaches.
“He keeps it real. He demands accountability. He demands structure. And he does it in a respectful way. He's a brutally honest coach. In today's hockey, people lose track of how important that is.”
The fact that Fitz was never serious about Berube is really worrisome, because he was EXACTLY what we needed. Country club… coddling certain players…no accountability (sans Holtz). That defines the Devils to a 'T'.
My bracket in the East is winning currently (Panthers to win East)…. in the West I'm done, Colorado just didn't do it. Really annoying because I was PRAYING 🙏 to see McDavid and Draisaitl vs MacKinnon and Makar 😒
Brind'Amour would be fantastic, but it's a pipe dream. I have a feeling in my bones it's gonna be Keefe… which I don't mind 🤷♀ more interested in snagging Brady Tkachuk, a goalie, and a big heavy D-man who can play.
Unfortunately after watching all these playoff teams I realize we need more than a coach and goalie.. we are way off from playoff caliber hockey
