I dunno why, but despite his garbage performance so far, I’m a little nervous.
Where’s the guy that’s gonna eat his neighbours shoe?
Im not going to say anything either way. Skinner can be a sieve, but he can also steal a game.
This is either going to go exactly how we all think it’s going to go, or Skinner turns into prime Hasek.
I just suddenly got more worried about being goalied…. Either way, I very likely won’t be able to cathc a minute of the game unless I magically wake up for the third period at 4am.
Hopefully the Canucks can get one or two quick ones (I know wishful thinking with the games all being so close offensively) but I feel like with him his confidence can get rattled quickly. Either that or he’s gonna be an absolute brick wall.

I hope we change nothing from last game. Loved those lines. If we can keep up that style of play tonight and get as many shots on Skinner as we did last time I’d say our odds are very good to close it out.
Odd choice. Lighting up Skinner tonight may just break the Oilers fanbase and franchise.
I don’t think we get goalied here. I think they’re swapping out Pickard because he’s old (32) and just doesn’t have the gas for three playoff starts in a row.
Considering he let in 4 goals in 14 shots last time this is good news for us.
We need to get some pressure and hopefully score a couple on him early. It will rattle him and the oilers will lose some confidence
Can we PLEASE not chant Skinner unless we’re up like 3-0 or something?
Edit: I forgot this game was in Edmonton. Nobody will be taunting Skinner.
Definitely a huge gamble for Edmonton but they’ve shown already that their goalie gambles work. All the pressure is on Skinner and I guarantee the team in front of him is going to give their absolute best so they don’t leave him out to dry.
The logical fan in me thinks this is good for the Canucks.
The superstitious over-thinking and anxious fan in me thinks this is somehow going to fuck us.
Let the battle begin.
My biggest concern is that the Canucks let their foot off the gas once they hear this.
People are forgetting that Skinner was and may be still banged up a bit. I actually think Conklin didn’t look good at all last game and also think whoever is in net for the Oilers shouldn’t matter if the Nucks can replicate that game 5 performance tonight.
Interesting choice, but ultimately it won’t matter. The Oilers will come to play and we expect whoever is in net will play really well. The Canucks can’t get distracted and need to bring their A+ game and treat it as if it’s an elimination game for them and that today is Game 7. I have a feeling that Boeser and Garland will have a breakthrough. I have high expectations of Miller, but I expect him to have his hands full with McDavid to try and neutralize him/stick to him like glue.

It won’t matter. The big difference in this game is simply how many fake penalties are called against the Canucks, and how many slew-foots, slashes, cross-checks, nut drivers and so on are ignored by the refs.
Seems a little desperate… probably good for us. Don’t underestimate him though.
In the 3 games with Skinner starting, they scored 4 goals 2x and 3 goals 1x. With Pickard they scored 3 goals and 2 goals. I think they prefer to play in high scoring games and will take their chances letting in 3-4 if it allows them to play a way which gets them at least 3 instead of playing more defensive in front of a goalie they don’t trust.
Their starter is less of the issue, shutting down McDavid-Drai-Hyman-Bouchard-Ekholm who Knob will probably have to play 40 minutes each for a chance to win will be the tougher challenge.
Job’s not finished, The Oilers will play desperate, and I expect them to be at the top of their game tonight. The people who think this will be a cakewalk are delusional.
Dont really care either way what EDM does.. all I care about is that we bring our A game.
Because our A game can beat ANYONE in the league.
