Not sure if they are better , they are a little more tougher , little more aged …. yet to be seen if they are better. If they don’t start playing for each other instead of themselves I don’t care who you have on that roster they won’t win. They need to learn to play hungry, talent can develop but I’m not sure about heart
Still need a real money goalie and freddy Andersen is not that guy. Dubas has to go get a real money goalie and freddy Andersen is going to be the reason Dubas gets fired. If dubas makes the decision to stick with freddy for a 5th straight year. Fire dubas. We need a right D man as well. The leafs are better than last year but will not win the cup with freddy Andersen. Darcy KUEMPER is one of the best goalies out there and he does excel in the playoffs. Go Dubas Go.
Why is it that only leaf fans think they are better
Dubas is still a kid and he is still learning on the job. Get a playoff goalie and the team might just win it all. Unload freddy Andersen now.

Not sure if they are better but they are different…..we lost speed and skill on the bottom 6 but hopefully the added pressence of the veterans playing defense along with the upgrade on D with Brodie will help cut back on the workload for Freddy….this team will live or die based on what the core 4 can do and hopefully teams won't be able to take advantage of a slower botom 6
l don't know why everyone thinks thornton is going to be a every day player. Spezza and joe will split time on the fourth line and have them fresh for the playoffs. Barabanov, Robertson should get a shot at everyday lineup. YAHOO SPORTS under salaries for the leafs has Bogosian making 6 million. what a joke that sports department is. must have their 5 year old doing the research

I keep hearing about this toughness, this grit, this wealth of experience the Leafs have acquired. They ended up the 2019-2020 season in 12th/13th? place in shots allowed per game, but 27th – yes 27th – in total goals allowed, which means (at least to me) they're giving up more than their share of good scoring opportunities per shots allowed. And it's not the goaltender's fault. Work on that, i.e., better TEAM defence.
To be honest I see Brodie matching WAY better with Muzzin than with Reilly.
When you look at players who are more geared towards gaining the offensive zone they’re usually better paired with good defensive solid stay at home defence men, that’s why Reilly paired better with Hainsey then the other offensive defence men the leafs played him with like Zaitsev or Barrie. Reilly needs A solid stay at home defencmen. If Chara played the right side that would be instant Stanley cup caliber defence right there it’s too bad he shoots left.

Bogosian, imo would put this team into contention no doubts.
To me there’s no room for Sandin, Liljgren, Dermott on this team unless there’s injuries, they should be in the minors developing playing top minutes

Leafs love their players . But other teams not so much. Who could the leafs trade and get something for? Couple of guys at most the rest are much like most of the nhl. Very replaceable
