Mitch Marner is expensive and soft, disappears in the playoffs for the Maple Leafs every year.

Marner is a fantastic winger… That's great but is that our REAL need? We need an elite 1C. Marner is going to want no less than 10mil a year (probably more) in Nashville and we dont need to pay another winger money like that. We need an all star center. ROR is great and I love him but we need the 1C more than anything else and we dont need to pay another winger the 1C money. All of that is beside the points of Marner not necessarily being a good fit for Bruno's style of play. Marner is not the way to go, but I DO think we should be shopping Saros instead of signing him to 8-9 mil money for 7-8 years. He could fish us a fantastic return for more offensive prospects.

Canucks fan here living in Ontario. I have a lot of respect for the Preds. Having said that, pursuing Marner is a mistake. Having 100+ points during the season means nothing when you don't show up for the playoffs. He's also $10.9M expensive.

I’d rather Trotz through the money at Saros keep him in Nashville than bring in Marner. Saros is the key piece to the Preds present and future.

Predators should pursue Draisaitl, if the oilers lose, they/he may be willing to trade, same situation as Marner, 1 year left on his deal. Long shot, but so is Marner.
I mean I get you don’t need to shell big money for one player but at some point you need that scoring punch to push that envelope. Roman and Filip are not getting younger.

Marner has 50 points in 57 playoff games which isn’t bad at all especially given the tight defensive teams in the Atlantic that the Leafs have had to face almost every year. The Leafs media is incredibly unforgiving and year after year players who get out of Toronto go on to great successes like Bozak and Kadri. Marner’s been a Selke nominee in the past and kills penalties well. He’s very good and if you can get him cheap off of the overstated bad rap he’s been given he would be an incredible Predator.
Good show Ladies. Why would Preds want Marner? He totally vanishes every year in the playoffs, and word is he's a total jerk in the dressing room. Add the greed factor for contract maximum, and it has to be a "thanks for the offer, but no thanks" by Barry Trotz
