Great 7 game series; though Edmonton is the better overall team, Vancouver showed some real fight this year. Tocchet should be resigned ASAP.
And as a Caps fan since day one in 1974, I also know what it's like to see your team get eliminated every year. I honestly didn't think I would live to see the Caps win the cup but in 2019 it did happen, and Vancouver's day will come.
I have no dog in this fight but I wanted the Canucks to win for you Shannon. I really do hope they reach the promised land sometime in your lifetime and I'll be watching the videos when that happens! So glad that you felt proud of what they had achieved this year – bodes well for the future.
To anyone reading this (including shannon) I just want to thank all of you (regardless of what team you cheer for) for being a great community of people who are passionate about a loved sport. I was buzzing when the oilers closed this game out and wanted to give a huge props to silovs. He was outstanding! Also, prayers to Brock on recovering well quickly. To all Dallas fans lets have a good series and may the best team win, you guys look good! I am saying this because I need to admit something. I stopped reading hockey comments and commenting myself a while back because of how disgusting people can be on the NHL and sportsnet highlight videos. I made a mistake reading the game 7 highlights for this game and was very dissapointed with the hockey community over there. People love to be sore losers and sore winners and I have ZERO RESPECT for either of those people. This was actually why I quit playing sports because of teamates doing this and other teams players thinking they are above others. Sport is supposed to be something that brings people together and respect each other. What heppens on the ice stays on the ice! There are dedicated "troll fan accounts" that will produce the most vile and disrespectful comments punching down. People like that have no place in our sporting society to tarnish our sport. Please do not do that. We are better than that. hve a good day to those reading this!
I feel so bad for Shannon at least his stars are in.
Hats off to Silovs. He was the reason the Nucks were even in this series. Without him, they never had a chance. They need him to challenge for a starting position next year. Canucks showed in the regular season and in the playoffs that they have a great future ahead.

Canucks we’re at 90% when demko went down from injury. And then down to 80% when bœser went down. The oilers struggled against that. Dallas in 4

Goaltending was the problem

As great as Oettinger is, Edmonton overcame a brick wall in Silovs this round. If anything, I think they will find (as silly as this may sound) Oettinger to be an easier goalie to score on.
Silovs was absolutely lights out awesome in this series, and especially tonight. This game could have been 6-0 at one point, if not for that crazy Latvian. Cheers to Silovs, best wishes for Boeser, and props to Miller for turning me into a fan.
Found a new respect for the guy this series. He is a warrior, and Canucks are lucky to have the guy.

Vancouver came out flat two games in a row. Pretty shocking actually. I don't know if it was Tocchet telling them to keep the shifts short but every time they broke out of their end they would dump the puck in and peel off to the bench. There was no chase after the dump in and the Oilers would just take it right back up the ice and hem the nucks in their own end. Poor Silovs got hung out to dry..
Credit to Canucks, they gave it a good go. Didn't give them a snowball's chance in hell before the series started, but it was really close in the end. Who knows what would've happened if Demko and Boeser played tonight, let alone the whole series.
I think it came down to stages of development. The Oilers are ahead, going to the playoffs for some years now, played a conference final a couple years ago.
Vancouver is a young team, and what a surprise is Silovs. This team can do more next season.
As a Bruins fan, I didn't think a power play could be any worse than. the bs had been in the playoffs . . . then I watched the Canucks! Oh boy, was it terrible. I know they were missing Boeser, but still – no shots at all on a 4-minute PP? Good season otherwise, great job by Silovs.
Pettersson deserves all the criticism he gets. Of course, it's harder to score in the playoffs, but your best players have to find a way to do so. You can say the Oilers played him well, but it's not like defense is their specialty. Pettersson could have and should have done more.
The fact the canucks got to a game 7 with their 3rd string goalie is a testament to how far the team has come under Tocchet.Great season by Vancouver

The Canucks were a really great story this season I think a lot of us non-Canuck fans wanted to see the Cinderella fairy tale ending for them after being one of the worst teams last season. I hope the come back next year even stronger with the experience and confidence this season should bring them.
Believe it or not, my 4 favorite teams are in the final 4. I live near Cincinnati, and the Cyclones were a farm team for Florida and New York. I started watching the NHL back when Gretzky with the Oilers. And, back when I played roller and 1 year of ice hockey, our team used green as jerseys so I bought a Stars jersey. So, lucky me. I do root for teams that never had the Cup. I feel bad for Vancouver, but their future looks good.
The Canucks need to find a balance between offence and defence. One should not be at the expense of the other. With all the hype with the two forwards for the Oilers. Bouchard and Ekholm are the most important part of that team.
Excellent and great affirmative time watching Canucks this season! And just a great future for this team.
