Entretien Ovies/Giglio avec Rod. Je ne l’ai jamais vu aussi franc. Excellente discussion.

Pretty interesting. I liked some of his points but I felt like he contradicted himself a bit too. He wants to run it back with as few changes to the group as possible and doesn’t want to blow it up. But he also thinks they got about as far as they could with the current group, and that they ultimately lost every playoffs because their opponents had more skilled players.

So isn’t the goal to become one of those teams with that top level game breaking talent, rather than run it back with the exact same group? (Obviously easier said than done)

Oh man… only 4min in and realizing that if we win the Cup Rod’s probably going to leave on the high note.

Now I’m kind of torn, do we want to win the cup if it means Rod leaves?! Why can’t we have our cake and eat it too?!!

The stumbling over the last 5 playoff seasons make so much more sense now 😂

Sent this to my doomer group text chain and threatened their lives if they ever doubt Rod the God again.

Very interesting interview, obviously Rod is going to defend himself, but I also think he is making some good points.

I think Canes fans need to take a step back and look at the big picture of this franchise. I think we’ve become so spoiled over the last several years’ successes that we are discounting what this organization has accomplished.

I have unwavering faith in our team and FA to put us in the best position possible, of which they have for several years. I can’t imagine being a doomer based on the outcome of both this year and last year last years’ early post season exits that could have gone a completely opposite way.

We’ve had great seasons and real chances at the cup, but like Rod said, getting over the “hump” for this team now is winning a cup. It’s arguably one of the hardest championships to win in all of sports. After his contract news and watching all the exit interviews, I’m very encouraged that we are going to come back next year with a similar group and put all the pieces together, especially with everyone saying how much they love it here and that they’d be willing to take team friendly deals. Fingers crossed.

This was really great. He answered a lot of the questions that have been festering at the back of my hot brain. Thank you for posting.
