  1. on the flamesnation pod frank seravelli made the observation that pettersson appeared weak and scared. my greatest fear is that louis eriksson scored an own goal on his pass back to blue line on a delayed penalty. he never recovered and was the worst contract in the league for 6 years. pettersson is moody, has some arrogance in his demeanour. i hope at some point he plays up to his new deal.

  2. Chill out Canucks fans. He’s a proven regular season player. He’s had one real playoffs where he definitely underperformed. We’ll see what he has learned when we make the playoffs again. Same can be said for Quinn too.

  3. Unfourtanetly every once and while on any hockey team, a star player will not perform well, so you could say not having demcko or brock and petey was a Triple disaster for the nucks, but u know we will eventually bring the cup on home😊

  4. I feel the Canucks signed him for too much and will need to trade him while he may still be appealing to some teams to trade for

Those defending him should take into account how much he signed for

  5. He will learn from this experience.
    He will adjust his game.
    He will bounce back.

Why are people so upset about this?
A few months ago people were desperately trying to sign Petey long term.

  6. EP40 looked shell shocked, nothing he can't overcome though. I think he will get better next few years. I say keep him and let him grow. The Sedins wern't great in the playoffs when they first started either.

  7. Trade him as soon as possible. Even eat some of his salary, and after that dismal playoffs performance, they will have to anyway. It's not good for the locker room to have an overpaid guy. He is not a playoffs performer.

  8. Get Petey a sports Psychologist and he'll be fine. I have lots of faith in his capacity. I mean, how old were the Sedins when they became big playoff contenders? Elias is 25. the Sedins really hit their stride when they were around 27 28 ish. Its all gonna be good man.

  9. Maybe it was not a smart move by JR & PA forcing Petey to sign an extension instead of waiting until after the Playoffs. If Petey still performed the way he did in the Playoffs, no way he would be getting $11.6 mil a season and JR & PA can try to re-sign him to a lower number or trade him! On the other hand Petey may have performed better knowing he's on a contract year and would still be playing against Dallas right now but would also be asking for a bigger contract in the off season!

  10. I'll keep saying it as it's the elephant in the room that's not being addressed: GET PETTERSON PROPPER LINE MATES!!!! Putting our premium guy on a line with Ilya Freaking Cursed Makeyev is NOT acceptable! Before we go running off at the mouth about EP40, give him a damn line! If, and I mean IF, he still can't perform up to standard with an actual line, then we can look at what Pettey is or isn't doing tha the needs to change, but when he's got inappropriate line mates who have not, and never have had, any business being on a top line in their entire careers, then we can't even begin to address Pettersson's issues, as the most obvious issue is not having a full 3 man line of people who can play with him. Makeyev spent all 82 games in the regular season, plus playoffs showing HE CAN"T PLAY WITH PETTERSSON! If we have to keep Makeyev, put him on the 3rd or 4th line where he's not excepted to score and his lack of scoring doesn't screw with our top guys. He can defend well enough, he just can't score and it spreads to guys like Pettersson when he's out there with them. I love Tocchett as a coach, but WHAT THE HELL WAS HE THINKING, making that a line all goddamn season long! A guy who can't score in over 30 games has no business being on a line expected to score goals. A guy who can't score goals in over 30 games on the wing with a guy like Elias freaking Pettersson has no business being on a line expected to score goals. If you put an scoring graveyard of a player on his wing, don't be surprised when his scoring dies and his confidence to score with it. GIVE PETTERSSON A PROPER LINE! For God's sake, give him a LINE!

  11. But not Vancouver, naslunds, sedins and all the rest of the Swedes. Have they ever won with any of them, NO !

  12. I find that as soon as these younger players sign these high priced contracts, 9 time out of ten they cant handle the pressure that comes with these contracts, some never recover, some get traded, i think petey well recover but it well take time for him

  13. I know Petey has been against seeking counselling in the past, but I really hope he explores that option to help him figure out what’s going on. It seems to have really helped Boeser bounce back.

  14. EP will follow the foot step of Nathan MacKinnon (Colordaro ) when he takes good advisory from some expert and does great trainings in summer

He will have strong performance alike Miller in the next season whose many people complained about his big contract last season Remembered in the bubble playoff , EP took a lengthy time off period before bubble playoff started. Now, he just played until this play off season from Sept 2023

  15. Y’all should trade him to be honest, if he’s a Marner 2.0, y’all gotta trade him, maybe get a guy like Sam Reinhart in free agency who can bring heat

  16. Considering the potential talent, it’s mediocre across the board. They ran on the “team of destiny” vibe. The third string goalie was by far the mvp..just teach Shilov to skate with the offensive rush

  17. Before listening to this video, anybody saying that Pedersen could have done better, must realize that he was always playing on the second third and even fourth lines. If you drive a Ferrari like a Fiat, you are an idiot.

  18. Soft as ice cream. Doesn’t hit the gym to put on some weight or muscle. Easy to push off the puck.

  19. Petey was just showing some of that June 15, 2011 Vancouver Canucks hospitality by gifting the visitor with a game 7.

  20. he sucks and we're stuck with him for a long time – needs to go on a cycle and gain 20 pounds

  21. Why didn't they wait with his contract until the end of the season? Why didn't they play the Lotto line?

  22. You need to Re Watch Game 7. Look at the physical play. And the opportunities gained and prevented. If Ilya Mikheyev could finish this video would have been totally different! If he had Boeser on his wing, Van would have won the game.
