Just qualify him at 5.3$
There are only 13 teams that can sign an offer sheet at 8 mil, and the compensation would be a 1st a 2nd and a 3rd.
Thx you very much!
Sounds like the Anson Carter thing all over again
Pay him… he is worth every dollar…
Trade him for the assets we need. Zadorov and Myers should take priority over Hronek
FORGET Hronek. He's too expensive, you CAN'T pay him more than Hughes, AND he did SQUAT in the playoffs. Sign Zadorov, he was a BEAST this playoffs. Then sign Meyers, Lindholm and Joshua.
Also, don't resign Cole. He was terrible in the playoffs.
In the playoffs, Hronek cannot keep the puck for more than 3 seconds. He often passes with his backhand to his teammates that is not very accurate. Compare to Hughes, he cannot drive the play himself on his own like Hughes can. He is good but not worth 8 mil he asks for. Get rid of him, we can find replacements for him. Period.
Lol. I did comment after the trade that the Vancouver fans would be pleased with his play and really learn to like him regardless of their purchase price. But I did warn that come contract time you wouldn't like him anymore. The reason Yzerman didn't like him is because he threatened a long hold out as a restricted free agent. I don't know if it's him or his agent or the both of them, but that's how he rolls. Most likely his entire career will work out this way. He will get a name for himself as a skilled Diva.
His size and career point production and plus/minus put him is the 5 mill range up to 6 mill max.
No wonder Steve Yzerman viewed him as expendable, when he got traded away.
So happy the wings got rid of him. I love ASP!
hronek is a 30-38 point defenseman away from quinn hughes
I want to try to get Tanev back and put Tanev with Hughes because they worked well in past and Tanev is a great guy
I agree…based on his play during the playoffs, both he and Cole played poorly (let Cole go as well), it would be better to sign both Zadorov and Myers’s for about the same money., and then focus on getting Petterson the quality linemaetes that he needs (Lindstrom, & or Guentzel, & or possibly the speedy Necas). Trade him and get the best return possible for him. Maybe fill one of your needs with this trade, or else get a nice first round draft pick + more. Also…what will Tanev possibly sign for? …and work to trade a few others to create some extra cap space to help enable you do all of these things.
2 players more worth keeping: Zadorov. Lindholm.
Top that up with a cheaper Myers, and Dakota Joshua.
He'll have holidays in two days
I said it when we aquired him this was a bad move but he did excell only cause of Hughes then fell off no more than 4mill otherwise ship em to toronto or Nashville
The Canucks should go get Justin Barron from my hometown Montreal Canadiens. He has a great shot, plays physical and could be cheap to get and low salary. He needs a bit of polishing on his own hand but he could flourish with Tocchet
Not with that showing in the playoffs. No sir.
im likin the ASP in the D, steve knew something. 4.6×4.. kinda a gift really, he might suprise a team on the bottom half with a real value..if you can get a late 2nd or really early 3rd jump hard. haveing said that ya still have to worry of his own overvaluation and being in the same spot VC "enjoys" now
$8 MILLION???? HRONEK’S TEAM THINKS THEY’LL GIVE HIM MORE THAN HUGHES AND BOESER??!!!?? NO WAY!!!
gotta let him go (*but get something back in return, since he's RFA can make a trade
He did nothing in playoffs garbage
Huges help med his career this year
When he dropped to 2nd pairing, he was not able to operate. Especially PP2.
I actually really liked his defensive play and physicality for the most part, although he had hiccups for sure. He's a 26 year old, offensively talented right handed Dman. If he took a short term at like $6.5M I'd definitely sign him. But anything upwards of $7m is just rediculous. Look at Devon Toews, he's a top pairing Dman, two way guy and plays with a Norris caliber player too. He's FAR more effective and doesn't make $8M
He is a right handed shot so that kicks up hus value but not to 8 million. Nit sure anyone will give him that. He really fell off. 7 mil max. Ship him at that and give Tanev a call.
I would have preferred to keep our pick, take ASP and not trade for Hronek. Hopefully they can get some decent assets back.
We’ll have trade him , he has arb rights he’ll get close to it
Relax Junior, the brass has this. Go grab a pizza pop mom's prepared for you.😂
For that money , we could have Chris Tanev back where he belongs
