I saw a recent mock that somehow had Buium fall to 15, so how about that happens except we take him at 14 🙂
This is crazy because Solberg isn’t on anybody’s top 50 list – and yet they have us taking him 14th??? Really?
I’m fine with Hemming, but no thank you to Stolberg at 14.
Idk much about the other player.
If the Sharks pick fucking Gidlöf at #42 with Parascak, Hutson, and Freij still on the board… Man that’d be rough
Hemming at 33 is good value, but no goalie is worth a 2nd rd this draft and that 14 pick is silly dumb.

I really like the idea of trading back into the 20s and drafting Solberg or Badinka if the other D are off the board and none of the stand out names are left.
Say the choice we are left with is between say Helenius or MBN. Ive said this before and ill say it again we dont need 3 Bystedts we already have 2.
I’m not familiar with prospects and not about to pretend I am. But I really want the sharks to invest in Dmen early after celebrini. Specifically RHD
If we take Solberg at 14 with Jiricek on the board I’ll be very upset. Ferraro, Muk and Thrun can hold down our LHD needs for the foreseeable future. Our RHD pipeline is sorely lacking. With a premier RHD prospect on the board we reach for a LHD? That’s asinine. Never going to happen.
I’d say it is more likely Solberg is still there for us at 33 than that we use 14 on him. I still don’t think LHD is where we want to use our top picks though. Get Celebrini, get the best RHD we can, then keep drafting scoring wingers in those first two rounds.
And definitely not a goalie. Gidlof is an intriguing prospect and I wouldn’t mind seeing him in our pipeline. But he could very well be there in the third round.
Hope we don’t reach that much
This feels like it’s one of those “my mom doesn’t watch hockey, so I had her do a mock draft” articles…when I asked her why she picked Stian Solberg she replied “his name sounds cute!”
Really bummed it doesn’t seem like anyone has one of the top D falling to 14. My hopes of Buium or Dickinson being there are fading 🙁

I’d prefer Jiricek at 14 if available but I think a lot of people are overlooking Solberg. He’s had a decent year playing in a men’s league. He’s solid defensively, he’s physical and has a decent point shot with decent size.
We need to pick a ton of RD this draft. Next draft doesnt have as many. Forwards will always be available. Depends on Griers priorities and how he views the quality in the squad.
