We do this every time. I still have faith, but I am also not sure we can keep coming back from this.
Edmonton out Dallesed , Dallas
Just me, or does Marchment look like a game changing 4minute penalty on skates?
Wow you pathetic clowns got all the power plays too
March mentioned staring at the goalie doesn't shoot tryst to make cute pass….happened multiple times in both ot. You win from the slot!!!!!
The stars always make a sub .900 net minder look good
I agree 0-5 on the Power play was just a piss poor performance. I don’t care about the shots in OT that went off the cross bar. Those Chances are just missed opportunities at this point. We did what we needed. We stayed out of the box. But we also needed to put a man on Draisaitl and Mcdavid and we struggled to do that a lot of times. Why were three of our guys chasing one fucking person. They caught us with three guys behind our net chasing one freakin guy not covering the front of the net and Mcdavid gets the opportunity. Why was no one on Mcdavid there. Our goalie Ottinger showed up and our defense was flawed but they showed up. Our offense and goal scorers, Robertson, Johnson, Dadanov, Stankoven, Pavelski, Duchene didn’t. Seguin was the only one that was on point. We need the rest of our 7 or 8 goal scorers to show up to the freakin game. Ottinger was by far way better than Skinner. But our offense wasn’t generating quality opportunities. At times we were just throwing the kitchen sink to the net. Easy shots for Skinner to stop. I saw alot of hesitation with the puck. We can’t do that. 0-5 on the PP is just inexcusable and unacceptable. This team relies heavily on Mcdavid and Draisaitl to carry the team to any kind of success. We need to isolate and limit the advances of these two guys. We also need the rest of our goal scorers to show up and get on the board.
What a joke no cup contender here
Edmonton winning this with only one powerplay should be scary.
I thought the Star’s depth was supposed to eat Edmonton’s lunch?
I just don’t understand the lack of focus, passion, effort, & determination AT HOME IN GAME 1 of the WCF against a team that squeaked by Vancouver in 7. Horrific preparation, dismal display on home ice. This team just loves to do it the harder way.
This team doesn’t even belong on the same ice as the Oilers they are a joke give me Oilers in 5
Spot on.
(Not counting powerplay) Robertson in playoffs needs to learn to shoot more. The extra dangle doesn't work in playoffs and he tries it almost every time on odd man chances.
Robo gets two posts in the 2nd OT or its a different result. They kept a lid on McDavid other than the GW. They will expose Skinner as the series moves along. The PP improved as the game went on. Agree, that they didnt have their A game, but nearly won in double OT. Should carry over to game 2.
Stars played uninspired hockey last night. The crowd was bored 🥱
It's making me really question why the hell the team didn't abuse the obvious weakness of the goalie they already figured it out once they scored the second goal so the question I'm having is why it didn't they keep pulling that against him
They will need Roope to go through this new challenge. If you don't convert on so many PP chances, you usually end-up on the wrong side like was the case last night. Marchement and Dadonov should shoot on net when possible instead of trying to pass while a guy is fully covered. Petrovic is doing a good job as a 6th D. If there is one thing Edmonton improved on with this new coach it is their defense play.
It wasn't so much a case of super disciplined play on the part of Dallas so much an unwillingness by the refs to call anything against them. The first 3 penalties against the Oilers were extremely soft with so many opportunities to make those exact same calls against the Stars, but they didn't. The high stick in overtime was a legit call, but nice kill by the Oil. You could see the linesmen also seemed intimidated by the Stars for some reason as well, the faceoffs were a joke. I'm anticipating that the reffing stays this way throughout the series, which is fine because the Oilers have gotten this kind of reffing all year and have learned to just fight through it.
When people are talking depth with the Stars, it's essentially that they have 3 solid second lines with a decent fourth line, whereas the Oilers have 2 top notch first lines, a 3rd line and a 4th line.
Oilers defensive game has to be one of the most overlooked aspects in the NHL.
The stars looked rusty to me. Even playing so poorly they took it to OT and were an inch from a win.
They will only get better from here and Skinner played his best game of the series (I hope 😂).
Time to dominate game 2 and send a message.
McDavid injured from head to toe. Battling the flu, upper body injury… can't stick handle, no strength to elevate or lift the puck up, lower body injury….lost his speed. McDavid is no longer Superman, will only be Clark Kent in this series. But he won't be denied the GWG. Fu**ing heart of a lion. Go Oilers!
Stars don't really have a chance. Sorry boys, better luck next year.
