I liked Kessel and was happy he found a perfect fit in Pittsburgh. I liked Gardiner, but he didn't play up to his size. If he would have focused on delivering punishment a bit more, that would have been a completely different blue line. All around, for me , is Kadri.
I can hear the eyes rolling. Mathews is a fantastic player, but until he's willing to score goals the way Hyman scores or Gary Roberts used to score, they'll shut him down every post season. I know Austin's a center, (refer to McDavid goals)Its too bad the Buds don't get moved to the Western Conference, 'cause they'd become tough in a real hurry.

Reimer wasn't that good and at best had 1 good season. Another mediocre Leaf player thats get immortalized because of 1 year. The guy has hardly been a starter in the NHL since leaving the Leafs and at 31 is a back up. Tells you everything you need to know.

Mathews, Duh. Not there yet, but if he stays healthy, all time leaf great. He’s a very very special player to watch.
I think we have to realize how incredibly hard it is to pick an all decade team because you have the aggressive rebuild that happened right smack in the middle of the decade so there was obviously a lot of turnover. But whichever team you decide to pick whether it be the 2013 team or the modern team, they all best represent the Toronto Maple Leafs with heartbreaks, 1st round exits and game 7 collapses.

Lol what kind of logic is this? Just because some players played more games means they make the all-decade team? The All-Decade team is supposed to be made up of the best players. Auston Matthews has been our best & most talented centre, you can't just pick Kadri over him just because Kadri played more games. Same thing with Marner, Tavares, Nylander, etc. Those players all deserve to make the all-decade team, because they are far better players than the older players ever were.
Please kill that music. Steve I love you but it's just infuriating to listen to. Unnecessary. I can can get over that you guys chose a theme for this video with ignoring the new era based on sample size but I cannot forgive that assaulting music.

Reimer over Andersen, what?! Freddie was played more, won more, has better stats, and not to mention Reimer was always the best at letting in a weak goal (See Game 7, Boston). Also Marner has 40 fewer points than JVR in 2 fewer seasons. Just a really weird concept. Also music was extremely distracting.

I'd say both of these are pretty much right, I'd have Phaneuf over Gardiner but Riemer over Freddy. There was no way Steve wasn't picking James there and 4-1 pretty much defines the leafs past decade.
