If the Preds plan on extending Saros, maybe we can go for Askarov

That’s not what that means. Devils were negotiating but at no point is it stated they were even close enough on a deal to bring it to Ullmark’s attention.

It states that there were several teams making a push for him, very difficult to believe every single one of those were on his NTC.

And with Ullmark on a 1 year deal, its very easy to believe they wouldn’t be close on a trade either with no subsequent contract.

It was mid season. Doesn’t mean he won’t change his mind in the offseason. Players have all sorts of reasons not to move mid season. Allen nixed a trade to us because he was nervous about playing time. Ullmark probably wanted to stay on a playoff bound team.

  4. Oof that’s too bad, thought he would waive for us since he’s friends with Bratt, seems he’s really intent on staying in Boston.

Logan Thompson. Acquire him, Hague, and one other Knight for the 1st rounder

Wonder why he didn’t want to go to LA, they are kind of the western version of us of just needing a good goal tender to get over the hump.

The scheidenfraud (spelling probably, autocorrect is failing me) of Fitz making that statement is gonna be astronomical come October

It’s Markstrom guys. Nashville is not going to trade Saros . They have plenty of cap space to keep him, and having Askorov cost controlled gives them an incredible tandem. Ullmark doesn’t want to leave Boston. The teams he’s putting on his NMC are strategic. He’s putting teams that are looking for goaltending in order to avoid a trade. He’s come out and said multiple times he does not want to be traded.

Markstrom was always the likely scenario. There was a trade in principle there until Calgary ownership nixed it. And they definitely can’t keep him, because he was absolutely pissed after that.

Players often fill their NTC list with teams that they feel would want their services, have cap space, etc. just to stymie any trade and make their partial NTC more like a full NTC. I’m sure Ullmark has no specific issues with any of those teams, just wanted to stay in Boston for this run and those were teams that needed goalies.

That’s OK, Ullmark can stay in Boston and continue doing his little hugs with Swayman, so adorable

And I’m sure Calgary, Dallas, and the Rangers were on his list of teams he was willing to go to. Makes sense if you don’t want to leave to put teams who need goaltending on the list.

With that said, the off-season now is a different animal for both the Bruins and Ullmark.

No blame – I wouldn’t have wanted to leave the Bruins for the Devils in the middle of this past season anyway.

ullmark will come if we trade for him.

I don’t blame Ullmark one bit for not wanting to play for a poorly coached team with zero defense again after all those years he spent in Buffalo.

With that being said, Ruff and Green are now gone and major defensive reinforcements are most likely all the way. Wouldn’t be surprised if we circle back and get this done in a month.

Of course he wouldn’t accept a trade off a contender to a team missing the playoffs at the deadline.

I think it will be Markstrom of the 3 that keep getting mentioned. The other 2 just don’t seem realistic. I don’t love that move but don’t hate it either. He would give the “league average” goaltending every expert says we need. Plus he seemed willing and happy to come which is good. The other guy I wouldn’t mind is the Jets backup (Broosiet? Something like that). But he’s never been a starter so that’s risky. Stinks that this is the team’s biggest need because it’s such a difficult position to get right.
