  1. We need Hintz, we’ve looked like we have no energy without him

  2. bob_bulldog_briscoe

We have leaks in our chimney. We get to use the fireplace about 5 times a year since we live in Central Texas. Multiple quotes confirm an expensive fix. No good.

  3. Rock-it1

Last night could have gone better. Let me be more specific: last night’s power plays could have gone better.

  4. gvader24

We lose Game 1 intentionally to study how our opponent plays against us. At least that’s my copium is telling me.

  5. talanamstein

Is anyone really worried? We’ve lost so many game 1s, are excellent on the road. They looked like they had been off for a week, knocked the rust off now time to get after it.

  6. CodeAnemoia

I’m tired of losing game one boss. But maybe 5 days off was too much. We will come out flying on Saturday

  7. Sanzen2112

They just looked like they were having a hard time controlling the puck last night. I don’t know if it was nerves or having sat for a week, or if maybe it was the ice. Edmonton looked to have the same problem to start, but they reeled it in by the second period, so I doubt it was the ice

  8. alfergus

Edmonton PK is really good and that was the difference. Going 0-5 on the PP is unacceptable. Edmonton seemed to have more jump at the beginning of periods too. Clean that up and keep the big boys from scoring and we should be fine. Have to get our big boys scoring again too.

I have watched enough of the Stars to know not to hit the panic button after a game one loss. I mean, we knew this probably wasn’t going to be a sweep. At this point, I don’t know what to expect if the Stars actually managed to win a game 1.

I am pleased with Petrovic’s play these last two games. He’s playing more minutes than Nils would and I haven’t seen him make any egregious mistakes.

I am a bit concerned that Skinner remembered how to save a puck, but ultimately, the Knights’ goalie tandem was probably the scariest one, and if we could beat them, we can probably beat the Oilers.

I am also concerned the Oilers realized they can’t play McDavid for 25 minutes a night, so he won’t be as tired. He “only” had 20 minutes by the end of regulation. Our bottom 6 is definitely better than theirs though, so hopefully that’s an advantage to us.

Also, the Oilers PK is scary, but we really need to capitalize on some of those chances. Side note, it’s funny how people are bitching that the refs were handing this to the Stars. Shocking though it may be, you can’t high stick someone in the face, and you can’t elbow someone in the head.

  10. Content-Attorney7056

We coulda beat them without Hintz. Dallas in 6

  11. JGuajardo7

Last night was a disaster on the PP, and defensively, we did not show up. With that said, the Oilers still needed double OT to beat us. Stars in 5.

  12. Salt-Fun-9457

The team has done a poor job working the puck into the slot the entire playoffs. Vast majority of the chances are generated on tip plays off of shots from the point. If they want a cup they are going to have to figure out a way to work the puck into the slot. If not they are not cup winners. We play offense like a one trick pony, we need to be better. On the rare instances where we work the puck into the slot and crash the net we score. There is a reason for that. And to watch the team play an entire game last night and flat out refuse to crash the net until Tyler’s tying goal (hint hint) was extremely frustrating. They are better than that but they play these games like they are conserving energy for later on. If they continue to play that way there will be no later on.

  13. Apprehensive_You5719

Would’ve been really nice to take the 4 minute minor gift in OT and win game 1… feels like winning and losing a series this deep in the playoffs comes down to missed opps like that.

  14. bigthagen87

I just knew that after we didn’t convert on a 4 minute McDavid penalty, he would score.

All things considered – for it to take them to 2OT after being up by 2, 1 of which was a pretty lucky bounce if I remember right, and the other a momentary lapse of something? by Otter and Lindell frankly, us nailing the post on 2 consecutive shots in the double minor…game could have gone either way and we didn’t play that great. Neither did they really but if we are shaking off rust while they are tired, Saturday should be better.

If PP was better, that’s a win.

  15. scoutcjustice

I am on the struggle bus today. Was so happy we were finally getting reasonable start times for weeknight games and then they hit me with the ol’ double overtime.

That picture of Benn is me.

  16. I don’t know what I expected but McDavid getting the latitude to whine to officials about an obvious highstick that drew blood. 🙄 even worse dumbass Canadians(I assume) trying to claim it wasn’t a penalty and was Duchene’s stick, no visible blood, or Duchene lifting/hooking McDavid stick.

  17. DFWTrojanTuba

Was at the game last night. Not the result we were hoping for but I still enjoyed being at my first home playoff game in 16 years.

The 5 days off certainly showed. Also, I don’t think the ice conditions helped either. Lots of falling down and missed passes on both sides. Edmonton seemed to have the book on Dallas, too.

Last thing: the singalongs while the Stars were down were absolutely tone deaf from the game presentation department. Really felt like they just weren’t paying attention to what was happening on the ice. I will die on this hill.

  18. SamsterHamster9

The boys have shown that losing G1 isn’t the end of the series.. but man it’d be nice to win one. Especially with the glorious chances we had. Wasted opportunity and also gave Edmonton some confidence. Sour taste in my mouth all day.

  19. BamaPhils

Anybody else notice Pavs’ white stick? Is it to help with tips or something?

  20. upstartanimal

We got a gift from the shadowy figures of the Pentaverate with that 4m pp at the start of OT, and we flipping blew it. So frustrating. I have to watch the game on mute most nights, so I totally imagined the crowd yelling and sighing in disgust with me.

That first Seguin-Benn goal was like old times, though.

  21. DependentAd9868

Tanev looked human vs the best player on the planet, PP v smol, not a lot there on offense, ice looked bad/soft, keep oetter in a bubble, numb roopes arm, don’t ever talk bad about seguin again, oil PK was what we thought it was, skinner could be scary.

  22. TardisTexan

Did you see McDouchebags past game interview bagging the stars? What an utter asshole. Maybe I’m naive but I don’t think any of our guys would bag another team like that

  23. 10fingers6strings

Everyone thought we would just roll over EDM. They need to be respected. We CAN beat them if we play like we did against COL. We came out flat, and paid for it. Otter did his part, the D looked gassed and let him down several times. We woke up in OT but got post-bit. I’m not concerned yet. We split this and we’re good. We lost two and I still think we’re capable of coming back. I believe in this team. Sure would be nice to have Roope back and flying, but if we can contain 97 and 29 this is winnable. I would love to show those entitled EDM fans a good whoopin.

  24. 10fingers6strings

I would also like to remind everyone that I am already seeing EDM fans start talking about who they would rather play once they finish Dallas off. They seem to think they will beat us in 4 or 5 and waltz into the final. I hope to god we make them put some respect on our names before this is over.

  25. ViewFrom30kFeet

    What’s the word on Roope?

Side note, no one is worried we lost game 1

  26. SilentThing

Due to timezones, I basically never seem to get a break and watch a full Stars playoffs game. But as a fan of all Finns in the league, how has Miro looked? Based on the ten minute recaps, podcast content and reporting he seems to be, perhaps, the best player of the Stars so far. Wyatt has been a beast, but I’m being a former goalie, I’m a sucker for a good defender!

  27. DesignerExtension942

Just cause tradition I didn’t want the stars to win game one but with 10 min on the power play it was just a lot of wasted opportunity

  28. StarsCowboysMavs

Harley has just 2 points in 14 games
