Love him, know he’s brings a lot of things to the game outside of points.
Even 8.5 is a lot of money for a guy with a career high of 68 points.
All it takes is 1 team and the free agent classes have been pretty weak.

Ya, Anthony is pretty connected and said he will get 10-10.5. Which I would be totally against. I’m a fan of TK too. Just because you have the space you don’t need to spend it just because. This is a important next two years for Briere.
I effed up the title. It should have read « Snow the Goalie DEBATE whether TK will get $10M. » Anthony says yes, and agrees that’s the right course. Russ says it’s too much. Both make good points!
I’ve been thinking no more than $9M, and was hoping for $8.5M. If they do sign him to $10M or more I’ll be concerned but won’t think it’s the end of the world. I don’t see TK turning into another Coots…we’ll definitely get at least 4/5 more great years out of TK. Coots looks cooked (from injuries) in the second year of an 8-year $7.75M deal.
It’s a huge mistake if they give him $10 million, even if the cap goes up. If you look at players making $10 million, Konecny isn’t in that group. Same with $9 million. He’s at best $8 million and that’s even more than what the Flyers should pay.
San Fillipo sounds like he doesn’t understand how hockey contracts work.
He argued 10.5 million for 8 years is better for the Flyers than 8 million for 4 years. Usually players will come down on AAV for longer term, not the other way around.
If TK would sign for 8 mill for 4 years, you absolutely pull the trigger on that.
Love TK. I don’t want him nor do I think he’s good enough for 10M+. He’s never hit 70 points and is bad on the PP.
I’d rather take a step back this year and acquire an asset than resign a player who isn’t franchise altering to franchise altering money.

And I want TK to show up and demonstrate effort consistently throughout a season, but some things are just never gonna happen.
If he dosnt want to take 8 let him walk. 8 max. We ain’t winning a cup anytime soon makes no sense to lock this guy up for that much
Really have a chance to avoid the mistakes that have plagued this franchise since the start of the salary cap era. Trade him and get value, let another team make the mistake of giving him that deal.
