how about Utah upgrading the Utah Grizzlies from the ECHL to the AHL. The Colorado Avalanche promoted the Colorado Eagles from the ECHL to The AHL so it has been done before
Swapping the minor league team where the major market team was? I remember when Manchester (AHL) and Ontario (ECHL) swapped leagues, and how quickly the new Manchester (ECHL) club was no longer in existence, and these are both minor league franchises.
