@Rangers de New York

Oh-Lord-Yeah

and punched in the head while down.. lol. They had enough PPs though

Two penalties in a matter of seconds and neither called. Trouba breathes on Bennett and gets executed

Its the end of regulation, the refs dont want to call something unless its a high scoring chance. That being said, that would have been a 2 on 1 and the arm should have went up for that. The trip would have been kind of moot point in terms of game management. They weren’t going to give a 5 on 3, but one of those 2 should have been called. Killing a 2 on 1 chance is a pretty good call to make there.

The time left in the game has no bearing on whether or not this should have been called. So sick of hearing that excuse.

Consistency in the calls has been my issue all playoffs.

The Lindgren holding call was a board battle which never gets called, and didn’t get called later when the Panthers were the ones doing the holding.

Gustafsson gets called for Roughing in the first after Luostarinen takes an extra whack at Igor, but when Thachuk made the exact same play one minute earlier in the other end, and there was no call.

The numerous holds and interference that Florida gets away with is astounding, considering if Trouba or Rempe even cause a draft in the wrong direction, they are sitting for 2 minutes.

If you’re going to call it once, call it every time. If you’re going to swallow the whistle, leave it swallowed. Just be consistent.

The blatant missed hold on Zib mere moments before this trip goes uncalled. Missing these late calls undoubtedly changed the game. Nothing takes place in OT the same way if it starts with the Rangers on a PP.

Now, having said all of that, this team just needs to play better. They were lucky to even be in OT after how they played the last 2 frames. Plain and simple they just need to be better or this series will be over in a miserable fashion.

First of all, Kakko sucks. He was not going to score. He was going to shoot right into Bobrovsky’s pads. Second, this idiotic sub just keeps glossing over the fact that the team that showed up for the first period left before the second. It wasn’t one play late in the game that cost us.

  7. Georgiewho

I was telling someone earlier how I didn’t have an issue on most of the Ranger penalties. My issue is the lack of calls on Panthers.

  8. TheIncredibleHork

You know what, rewatching it, you get so pissed at the missed tripping call that you don’t even realize that it looks like the dude took a knee to pop Kakko in the face after he tripped him.

I swear to Christ these refs are >!grapefruits!< deep on the Panthers and calling it so slanted. It’s really frustrating and I hope that Dolan doesn’t mind dropping another $250k to slam them or to let Laviolette speak his mind.

  9. Superrandy

I think the reason it is not called is because it looks like Kakko actually steps on the defenders stick to trip himself. You can see it in the slow mo replay. Defenders are able to occupy open ice with their stick, which he does here before Kakko moves his skate into/onto it. Idk how the ref could make that judgement in real time fwiw, so it is quite surprising it wasn’t called.

  10. FireVanGorder

Forget the trip. Kakko gets intentionally punched/elbowed in the back of the head when he’s on the ice. That’s at least the 4th blatant intent to injure the panthers have gotten away with this series

There were a couple of bad misses, but listen, blaming the refs is a big of a bitch move as Rodrigues and his embellishing.

The Rangers got outplayed for most of the 2nd and 3rd period and made a bad play at the beginning of OT. That is why they lost, not because the refs.

The 2024 playoff officiating for Florida has definitely made me question what the league is doing and why they’re favoring Florida. It’s like they’re gonna get a new arena deal or something or they’re trying to get some sales metric for southern expansion.

Because I am now having a hard time, understanding how the officiating is so radically different for Florida and whoever they are playing against

The call on Gus was the kind you see in a movie where you know the refs are rigged

  13. labinnac_esproc_02

You’d think this dirty / chippy Florida team would make the team furious, and play with some fire and passion. Let’s go !!!!!!! 2 wins away

    [Tough Call take](https://youtu.be/pplYm25knSI?si=05KGYJjSQBsh0qJp)

Neutral take, and it is neutral because the same guy wanted Trouba suspended 4 games for the elbow play. He fairly assesses that there is both a by the letter of the law trip and a roughing while LOOKING THE REF IN THE EYES because he knows he’s a scumbag and it won’t get called.

He also advocated for a fine for Montours cross check on Trocheck.

Fair voice I don’t always agree with, but I appreciate the unbiased POV that is confirming the WTF factor of this singular play here that could’ve been the difference between us being up 3-1 and praising KK as a hero and us literally about to hunt down Zibby with pitchforks.

  15. nyr00nyg

While you can see Zib get grabbed and spun around. Two of the most obvious penalties ever and not a single whistle

  16. Mr-Dicklesworth

Angel Hernandez got forced out after however many years. Wonder how long it’ll take Kelly Sutherland

  17. e30cabrio

My problem is how does it go from an average of 5 penalties a game on the season (second most in the league) to 2?????

As far as Trouba, he missed Rodrigues who didn’t miss a shift and Vesey is out for the foreseeable future on an uncalled elbow. Wtf????
