  1. It’s a tough one. He was so good in the playoffs that you forget he was just okay in the regular season where he was scratched and there was discussion of management not bringing him back.

  2. They need a better salary cap maybe like premiere league soccer. Also we need a world hockey league. when canada and sweden were battling for the bronze there is something bigger going on. North American hockey is getting really boring. I want to see a team in Switzerland win the Stanley Cup. Or Latvia with Silovs. Also Petterson is getting 11+M but he had the worst playoffs and 2nd half of the year. We need player who come out and play every night.

  3. Keep in mind that the source (Dhaliwal) is kinda bffs with Zadorov’s agent (Milstein), so I would take this news with a grain of salt. Regardless, we need a cup winning roster, if losing Z is what’s best for the team as a whole, I’m all for it! Cups aren’t won by city’s favourite players, it’s won by well built teams.

  4. That worse thing that can happen is getting trapped by poor deals. Z although great in the playoffs, has never really proven himself to be a $6M player. I think $4-5M is good but if that doesn’t work for him or his agent, then I’m okay with him leaving.

  5. There are lots of pieces at play so not talking right now is not a big deal. Also, was Z playing for the bag or for the cup? I'm not sure I can answer that tbh.

  6. Canucks fans loves offense and points they don't CARE about size, grit, toughness, hard hitting, nor fighting. Toronto is prob their dream team, and look to them as a pricing figure for future contracts. They love the small swedes/euros in Vancouver. Teams marveled at the size of the defense in Vancouver this year. to bad they they don't do the same with the forwards. Some things will never change in Vancouver.

  7. Some of Defence needs to be fired , to traded , can't stand there see no attack mode moving, stand there like goof see other team score the goal

  8. As long as you can scrape into the playoffs anything can happen. L.a. Kings were dead last in their conference when they won I believe. I'd take him for the Leafs.

  9. Lol, one playoff run and a whole bunch have "priced themselves out" of the Canucks
    Zodorov
    Hronek
    Lindholm
    Joshua
All likely to be gone next season

  10. Don't forget, at the beginning of the Flames season he was all talk, and the fans wanted him signed long-term and even be the captain… One tweet while in Toronto change that scenario right quick! Big Z, is all about Big Z… 8 other NHL teams already know that.

  11. Should we be basing this strictly upon the small sample size that is the playoffs?

  12. Ffs he hasn't left yet, there will be another offer. There always is. That's why it's called a "NEGOTIATION ". Wake up.

  13. No no no. Dillon coming to replace Cole. Hronek May come back for one year and big Z coming back for sure

  14. The Devils have the cap space and could really use a 'Zadorov' type of defenseman. Wouldn't be surprised if they come knocking.

  15. Damn…Those Edmonton reporters picking numbers from trees might have been right after all. Can't wait to see Vancouver fans defend him when he is on a new team and starts bad talking the Canucks.

  16. Myers (6 mil), Hronek (4.4 mil), Zadorov (3.75 mil), and Cole (3 mil) takes up 17.15 million this past season. Let's say Myers can be brought back at 3 mil, and let's say Dillon can be signed for about 3 mil as well, this would still leave the team with 11.15 mil to sign two more D-men. If Myers and Dillon can be signed for 4 mil each, this still leaves the team with 9.15 mil. So if they have a will to sign Big Z, let's say for 5.5 mil, that would still leave the team with close to 4 million to find a replacement for Cole… (I consider Hronek and Dillon different but both can complement Hughes' game well). Tanev is paid 4.5 this year…

So in an ideal world, you are replacing Hronek and Cole with Dillon and Tanev… This may actually be an upgrade, though I am concerned that this blueline would seem old.

  17. Big Z did everything right until the last 12 seconds of the final game leaning on his stick like a pylon blocking the open side of the net and Miller's shot that would've tied the game!! Like wtf!!
