The Panthers can control and forecheck and even dominate with their play at times, but if their defense will be as mediocre as it was in the last game, the Rangers will find their spots and rushes and get more opportunistic goals.
Panthers are very good at shutting out the Rangers star players. Panarin and Zibanejad most notably struggle to produce offensively because they are constantly pressured and cannot get the puck anywhere. Thankfully the depth has stepped up but the stars have to find a way.
Rangers defense needs to start stepping up in a big way. The offense has been good enough, the defense not so much. Igor also needs to stop letting the Panthers players getting him so mad. Rangers need to be more physical, their getting bodied by the Panthers on a daily basis. Vinny, Laffy, Goody and Krieder have basically been all the Rangers offense, Mika needs to learn how to hit the net with his shot and Bread has just been MIA almost all throughout the playoffs.

My concern is that the Dirty Panthers will start taking runs at Igor.
The playoffs are a different monster, and that means different lines and combinations may be necessary to employ. Florida is keying on certain Rangers e.g., Zibanejad, Panarin, Fox, etc., so changes in combinations could be one solution. Trouba is a physical player, but he is taking too many penalties, is getting beat to the puck, and is lucky to NOT be suspendid. Perhaps some alterations to lines can help. Different combinations in the backline. It seems Adam Fox is still dealing with injury, and Lindgren is beat up, then why not switch some movable parts ? Something to think about: Our defense is NOT very fleet of foot. Could Jones offer valuable minutes ? Poor Matt Rempe is averaging 5 minutes, so why not add a 7th defenseman?
Goodrow has twice as many goals in the playoffs than McDavid !

I'm sorry but this is nonsense. Everything the Rangers do well the entire media sphere pecks at another aspect of their team. First it's the ES numbers, then they prove that wrong. Now it's the PP goals, like we haven't already proven that in other series. The other night it's the goalie stealing the game when they were outplayed, like it hasn't happened for like 20 other franchises in recent years without a peanut gallery, like we didn't put up 4ES and a shorty on them, or like Igor can't be reasonably expected to play that well in a big game to begin with. Maybe they're just good lol. Anyone think of that yet?

Powerplay needs to step up big time. If that was clicking we can put them away.
Truba needs to calm the hell down, a game misconduct or a suspension will hurt big time.

Paul Maurice made some line adjustments prior to Game 4 and it's in Miami so he's in control of the matchups. Tbh I don't expect the Rangers to go up 3-1, but surely I want that. Let's Go Rangers!
Trouba has to stop getting all those penalties. He looks horrible on defense. An Miller also needs to stop turning the puck over in his own zone. If we can get a solid game from these two, the Rangers’ elite offense can dominate tonight’s game.
No one has truly stepped up as for checking and separating player from puck, definitely need to put up 60 plus hit, and that would eliminate chasing the puck in there zone, Jacob has yet to show up, one goal, one big hit, he is captain and is not leading by example, he needs to flatten any Florida coming out of there zone, Miller don't open ice hit, this is a huge issue, Rempe can only do so much, the whole team needs to hit, and not be hit, no retaliation for taking out Vessy, and the head hit on Alex, very poor hockey code and surprisingly have won, but if there lack of checking continues will cost them a trip to the cup.

All year… need to be better 5v5 can't rely on PP. Playoffs, need to be better on PP can't rely on 5v5 goals. It just shows how good the Rangers have been all year. They play the game in front of them.
What I can’t understand is that the Rangers are being put as underdogs throughout so far the entire playoffs.. The biggest positive is that the Rangers are hanging in in this series, without their top guys scoring. If these 3-4 guys break out……!
Power play vs short-handed scoring. I'd argue the shorties are more of a backbreaker. A power play is still an advantage, as you can spend two minutes in the offensive zone, wearing the opposition down.
I'd say that Bob has a tough time reading backhands, the R's should attack more, taking backhand shots.

I for sure agree with you, Rangers were stuck in their zone a lot forcing them to ice the puck play after play. However they also use that same play effectively to gain momentum breaking out of their zone. Chip, chase and try and get a rush going. That OT win was a good example of that I think.
I’m surprised why the top line don’t set up Zibanejad for a slap shot more.

Trouba has such low hockey IQ and overall just slow. He needs to be smarter in positioning because he is so damn slow. I appreciate that he is blocking a lot of shots but I'd love for him to take the puck away because guys can't go around him. Florida is clearly targeting him.
