I wouldn’t say dumb. He was here for one season and that one season was glorious. What a game changer it was to have one of the best defensemen to ever play on your team.
When Pronger was out there on that run, you felt safe because you knew that puck wasn’t going in your net. Pucks stayed to the outside because no one wanted to get to the front of the net with Pronger there.

That’s a sweet jersey and if I had one I would wear it with pride. When news broke of acquiring him it felt like a dream. He was an absolute beast that playoffs. Even though it was only one year and he left in a bad way I still respected his game.

My dad got me the exact jersey when it first dropped. I think I was maybe 10 at the time. He didn’t want to pay for it to be lettered because he owned an embroidery business at the time so he lettered it himself. He used our last name and my number at the time (90) but did it in the wrong font lol. It looks a bit goofy but not noticeable to a non-Oilers fan. It’s my favourite jersey though and my go-to.

Chris Pronger is still one of my favorite oilers of all time. Sucks how it ended but man was he good for us.
I have a Pronger standard blue jersey from that era and I always wear it. My joke is that its the only jersey that makes me more likely to get beat up by another Oilers fan than a fan of another team. I love it though and some of my fondest memories of the Oilers are from that run. I wear it with pride, the dude was unreal for us and is one of the greatest players ever. I’m just glad we had him for a bit instead of being terrible with 0 star players.

I always appreciate these older rarer jerseys. Sucks Pronger left us with a bad taste in our mouth, but an 06 jersey is always appreciated! Yesterday I saw some gems in dt like a CUJO, Roli, and even Pisani jersey!
I had been to 3 straight playoff losses so I pulled out my old rebook practice looking Oilers jersey for last night and they won. Guess I am wearing it for the rest of the playoffs

The only thing dumb is the McFarlane logo. They should just do a regular Oilers logo in those colors and make that a third uni for 2025-26.

Pronger was possibly the biggest reason why the Oilers made the finals in 06 besides Roloson. Great player.

Think I have one of those as well one of my all time favorite jerseys I own is a Georges Laraque jersey in that style. My only complaint is mine is a large and I wish it was an XL

I miss my old Oilers jerseys. My original McFarlane was blank, and it was one of many jerseys I purged during the Decade of Darkness in a fit of despair and rage.
Loved him for the one season. Never understood the hate afterwards. We have never had a defensemen since that comes even close to his level of effectiveness.
He had Ekholm’s nastiness but he was bigger stronger. He had Bouchards tape to tape pass up ice but without the giveways. He had Sourays shot but without the injuries. You name any defensemen since he left and gather up all their best attributes. Pronger was better at all of them and he was just one guy. Just total and utter perfection as he rolled into playoff form.
People wo never seen him play for us don’t realize he was like a cheat code back there. It was so calming and relaxing when he stepped on the ice. And he was on the ice half the game.
Pronger? I barely even knew her.
