Winnipegs 1st rounder, some number of prospects, and our 1st for Macklin lol.

Likely gonna try moving up to snatch Demidov?
sean_psc
I’ve heard that they may in fact look to draft one or more players.
IcyChard4
We can call this *a hunch*. Nothing yet is set in stone. But I can assume mgmt. has already did meetings with scouts on what to do come draft day. Not sure though if the Habs are a « dark horse » team that will spectacularly « WOW!! » everybody. So from here on, its all wait and see….
BayStreetGuy
Wow, I thought Hughes and Gorton would go in and accomplish nothing or very small
_thewayshegoes
Accomplish something big by drafting another defensemen
Beefiest_bison
They’re probably looking for a young top 6 forward or more highly drafted reclamation projects. Could be a good time to move one of our D prospects before we hit complete logjam.

Wasn’t Marinaro selling spaghetti sauce just a few years ago? If Doug Mackenzie or Craig Button were saying the same thing, then I’d pay attention

As is every other team in the NHL.

Every man, woman, and child knows they are looking to get an established top 6 forward. I guess they only question is what are they willing to pay?

I wouldn’t be against them trying to get New Jersey’s pick with a Xhekaj + wpg 1st or something.
I think new jersey blaming their season on a lack of grit are prime target for something like that.

I’ll go out on a limb and say that the Habs may or may not be considering some moves. Don’t quote me though.
Dr_Nice_is_a_dick
If Lindstrom and Sennecke are taken, they have a package ready to drop down or take a young struggling player (K. Jonhson par exemple)

The Montreal Canadiens will participate in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

Nah, the interview went terrible. Dude is actually an asshole.
But he’s gonna get 45-50 goals a year so we took him anyway

Everyone here being sarcastic for good reason, we all know media overhyped things but several media sources have confirmed this and the track record of this management team has shown when there is smoke there is likely something coming.

I could possibly see them moving reinbacher or mailloux to move into top 10 and maybe some package of wpg + assets to get into the top 15…could end up with 3 of the top 10 forwards in the draft… Lindstrom/demidov + Iginla/Helenius + eiserman/senneck
Would be interesting, to say the least! I’d prefer to keep mailloux over reinbacher but I don’t know shit about fuck just throwing out some ideas for fun.

It would almost be surprising if there wasn’t atleast one big move this summer given how the first couple years under Gorton and Hughes have played out

I really hope this isn’t true.
The Habs should wait until a real elite players becomes available (at the level of Eichel and Tkachuk) instead of forcing the issue and just grabbing what happens to be available this offseason.
Obviously if a player can be acquired in by giving ‘quantity for quality’ they should obviously go for it, but I really don’t think the Habs should feel forced to do anything this summer.
The Habs defense is still very young and not close to contention, there’s nothing wrong with another top five pick in 2025.
