  1. Lost Pietrangelo, no Tarasenko for a while, Steen retired, Binnington hasn't played well and Jake Allen won't be back to bail them out on the road. Krug won't be able to replace Pietrangelo's defense, unless Parayko and Faulk step up in huge ways, their defense is questionable. A weak division might help them out this year but I don't see another deep playoff run happening this year

  2. St Louis should be good next year but there are concerns the loss of Tarasenko and will he be the same, is Binnington a flash in the pan and do they have enough depth on their blueline after Faulk and Parayko though i don't think they will there is opportunity to fall back even in the west

  3. Two questions 1) Where do you put Kostin if he makes the roster and do you see him making the roster? 2) What do you make of the Mike Hoffman rumors and how does it change the roster?

  4. Allen being traded sucks. He was great as a 1-2 punch with Binnington. I was an Allen hater for a long time, but if you used him correctly, he was great in net. Once he loses confidence, get him the hell out net. Losing Jbo not only hurt in terms of losing his production, but it also hurts Parayko. Parayko really needs to step it up. The blues defense worries me this season. If Faulk plays like he did in the playoffs, we will actually start to like him. He looked like one of the few players that were trying. Scandella played very solid and helped Faulk. Dunn sucked big time in the playoffs. Not really sure if we will have him next season.

Robert Thomas is a play maker! Idk if he'll ever score a ton, but he will always help the team with a lot of assists. He has already proven himself.

Overall, the blues just need small tweaks. Whether it's the young guys stepping up and same with the defense, or a small trade here and there. I don't quite think this is a Stanley Cup team, but if they get on a roll, they could definitely win it all.

The biggest question going for is Tarasenko….What to do with him?

  5. I'm looking forward to seeing what this team looks like. There have been a lot of changes over the past few years, but I think we've arrives at what could be a damn good core for the next few years. I'm not nervous

  6. Thanks Shannon. Couldn't agree more, especially with your takes on Thomas and Kostin. Thomas might be the team's most skilled player. Kostin might be top 6 next season.
Was driving in Minnesota with my Blues cap on this week. Car next to me had a Bruins plate holder. Honked. Her smile turned to a frown when I showed her my Blues cap.

  7. This off-season reminds me of the blues offseason in 2016. Tough decisions were made and the roster is significantly different but I respect Armstrong for sticking to his guns and not becoming the LA Kings.

  8. I think you can basically super glue the blues to the 3rd overall spot in the division

  9. Interesting coincidence. Goals For 3.14 goals per game, also STL area code 314. And STL pizza (pie/pi) is a thing. It is all working as unplanned which is how most STL teams win their championships.

  10. Just put Blais with Barbashev and Sunqvist…your top line doesn’t score…and they become the trainer’s significant other…..big boy hockey!

  11. As a Blues fan I have to say this Petro is a little overrated. Not that he sucks but people always say his top 5 or so dman. He was super streaky and would be cold for awhile they get 10 points in 10 games. One thing i will not miss is him on the powerplay Seemed like once a game he would let a puck bounce over his steak across the blue line.

  12. The Blues Defensemen are still really solid. Scandella is a perfect compliment for J-Bow's absence. The Krug signing allows for Faulk to be on the right side where he is comfortable. And let's not forget about Dunn. I didn't mention the Giant or any of the 6th Defensemen…Bortuzzo and company.

Honestly, I'm glad Petro is gone. I lost all respect for him ball-baggin in the playoffs about his contract last year. If he wanted to stay that bad, he coulda come down a bit. Dude was just trying to juice the Blues for that extra year.

  13. Hoffman, Krug, Thomas, Clifford, Parayko, ROR, Dunn, and hopefully Tarasenko. This team is stacked

  14. Adding Hoffman since this video came out only enhances their chances this year….bummer seeing Petro go….but Army did a gr8 job at grabbing Krug………….not expecting Tank Tarasenko back either…..but with Thomas becoming more and more established as a top 6 guy………..I don't see the offense slipping……………..will be a year long battle with Vegas and Colorado for that top spot out West…………………..
