  1. I want to see more Monsters playing on the Blue Jackets. Also I can say for sure the Monsters are a playoff team, not so sure about Columbus.

  2. I think they've also had the unfortunate luck of playing against the eventual Stanley cup winner when they've made the playoffs each of the past two years lol. They haven't had that series against a team that you know they'll beat and they haven't proven they can beat a cup winner over a 7 game series. I like their depth and I don't think torts will implode here. He seems to be in check this time around.

  3. Columbus is a frustrating team. There’s potential, and there are periods when that potential really heats up, but they are never consistent enough and can never pull it off when it counts. Maybe this will be the year, like they’ve been saying for so long now.

  4. A bridge deal was never on the table for Panarin, so that's silly. Its the 7-8 year deal or nada. You are also sleeping on Jonathan Davidsson and Eric Robinson competing for a spot on the opening night roster. Texier isn't even close to playing in NA at all.

  5. Call me crazy, but if Columbus dips from the wild card spot, Carolina can make it to the playoffs IF they stay healthy

  6. I'm not sure how they are going to divide 6M in cap space between 2 hungry Russians (Bob and the bread man) not to mention 9 RFA's at the end of the season. Something has to give. Dubinsky at 5.5M and Jenner at 3.75 playing on the 4th line might need to be looked at.

  7. This is the year they'll get in the second round. Has to happen one of these years and been built up and gave Washington a scare.

  8. I think it's unfair to pick between Wennberg and Foligno because they play different positions. Foligno only played center this year out of necessity due to the loss of Karlsson and Dubinsky losing his game, he should be back on the wing this season which he has played throughout his career. By the same train of thought I think Nash is almost unanimously looked at as the team's 3rd line center, not 4th, which would likely be a player such as Dubinsky or Sedlak. I think Bjorkstrand is going to be a top 6 player on this team, but the lines tend to change very often with this team due to forward depth and finding chemistry. I think Nutti could very well take a spot in the team's top 4 this year over Murray or Savard, he's right on the cusp from being underrated to a known commodity around the league.

Very biased, but they'll make the playoffs. Many of the players had statistically "down seasons" this year and they were still able to make it. There real question is which Bob shows up for the playoffs? As much as he's taken heat for this year's playoffs, it was far and away his best, which really says something. The team's lowest scoring wins these last 3 1st round exits have been 4-3, they haven't won a game when scoring less than 4 goals (and yes they've needed all 4 in all of those wins), and you can't win like that. This is what's most frustrating for Jackets fans (at least for me), because you also can't justify not playing your star goalie in the playoffs. (and if you watch the games, the D isn't to blame, he just tends to let in really soft goals in the playoffs)

  9. I think Dubois could top 60 or even 70 points. If that’s the case the CBJ should easily finish in the top 3!

  10. The blue jackets stole Jones from Nashville. Anyone who thinks the Predators won that trade needs to take a second look

  11. Love your channel! Panarin gives us the push we need to get over the hump, but Wennberg is the key. Whatever they thought he’d bring to the table he needs to deliver. Panarin unfortunately in my book is now getting to be baggage. If all the planets alight, and no ones hurt we could roll- but that’s getting into a lot buts.

  12. Jones is their top d guy hands down. Werenski is fantastic, but Jones is more valuable. Murray is a bum on the ice and a total waste of a top pick as hes a glass house. D rankings are Jones, Werenski, Savard, Nutivaara. Gabriel Carlsson play "top 6 minutes"? Hes a d guy, so Im not sure you say a d guy gets "top 6" minutes when there is only 6 on the ice… Plus hes no better than 5th (probably 6th) on the depth chart and being pushed by Kukan to 7th, as the team signed Kukan to 3 more years. He will be lucky to get into the top 6 at all. And, like you said he isnt really a rookie. I would put Alex Broadhurst in the "potential rookies" column. They gave him a one year extension and hes 25, (make it or break it time) played a pivotal role in Cleveland last season and shows a lot of heart. Could be another Riley Nash type utility guys whos got grit. Overall good video, but your defense rankings/predictions are off for this team.

  13. Bobrovsky's strong play, avoiding team injuries and the team having better game starts(they had to come from behind in too many games) are key for the BJ's to make the playoffs again. BJ's have to have more faith in giving more starts to Korpisalo. If Korpisalo can get more starts, it will help in resting Bobrovsky and making him more fresh to start the playoffs. Regarding Bobrovsky in the playoffs, he needs to play a more controlled game and it would help if his team could play better team defense in front of him so he doesn't try to do too much. Bobrovsky is a top NHL goalie, but his one flaw that he hasn't corrected yet, is he relies way too much on his incredible athleticism. If he can find a way to have a somewhat more controlled game, then it will reduce his bad rebounds from time to time.

  14. I risk angering some people with this comment, but in my eyes, the Blue Jackets are becoming the NHL's equivalent of the Bengals. Like the Bengals, both have legit talented athletes, but both also lack any postseason success. Plus, with the whole Jack Johnson drama this offseason, that adds another checkmark to having beef with a Pittsburgh-based team. At least Jackets fans can take solace that they do not have volatile players or a cheap owner to hold the team back.

  15. Hope Bjorkstrand gets more TOI. He is very underrated, and has an elite shot.

He was top 6 in scoring for players playing less than 15 mins a game.

  16. Blue Jackets Rivals:

    1. Pittsburgh Penguins
    2. New York Rangers
    3. Washington Capitals
    4. Minnesota Wild
    5. Columbus vs First Round

  17. Great job on the break down. There are so many question marks that it's hard to get a good feel for what to expect. Panarin, the contract issues for both Russians, so many players with slow starts last year. They could go up or down and neither would surprise me. Thanks for the work you put into the video.
