Just to look at the optics I think Florida actually had a much harder path last year facing Boston, Toronto and then Carolina. They were gassed by the end.
This year Florida played an injured Tampa, a Bruins team that overachieved losing their 2 Cs and then faced a mediocre Rangers team which is shesty and nothing else. If the Canes hadn’t blown it, I’m not sure if the Panthers beat the Canes.

In what world was Boston a juggernaut? I feel like both Boston and NY played like they were a superstar goalie and nothing else. Pasta was playing like he was ready to get over to the IIHF. Oilers went through the Stars – the team that every single pundit was saying had the best and deepest roster in the playoffs and had just beat the last two Cup winners.

McDavid is going to eat Barkov’s lunch. All Oilers need is one or two PP to win a game and they have been the best team scoring 5 on 5 too anyways. Also, in what world is it okay to say Florida might have the advantage if they just go and injure players? I love the physicality of hockey. But targeting and knocking players out is not good hockey. And Oilers are the first team Florida has faced that can both skate and be physical with them. Kane, Perry, Nurse, Vinny can all lay some hits too. So can Hyman. And Oilers superstars can play physical too. Drai had a better postseason on one leg two years ago than anyone who has ever played for the Panthers.
