  1. It may not be “ideal” to keep Marner BUT, JT comes off the books after this next seaosn and the cap goes up about $5mil each of the next two seasons. There will be room to add both this year and more so next year. It is not like you can hit Free agency with $25+mil in cap space and be able to spend it all in one shot wisely. Use the cap space available this year to make a couple savvy moves. Then do the same thing again next year. Keep in mind, they do have a lot of cap space opening with Samsonov, Brodie, Klingberg, Murray, Bertuzzi, and Domi coming off the books. It is not like they are pushing up agaisnt the cap going into the offseason.

  2. The fact that you said Marner is the 3rd best player on the team shows how little you know about hockey. Marner is a far better player than Nylander.

  3. this is why you do not give a no trade clause because he may stay this year and walk for nothing thus marner did not waive the no trade clause and you can not trade him during this offseason and 24/25 nhl season

  4. Does any reasonable person actually believe a GM (Trevliving) would actually announce publicly what his trading strategy is . He may talk to the press, but it certainly doesn't mean what his says is true. LeBrun is known to a mouth piece for GMs , without credibility in facts. Why does anyone believe these "entertainers" AKA. known as sports writers or reporters.
