Personally, I don’t mind Mickey. He’s getting old but I thought he was always pretty great and he has some legendary calls. That being said I know a ton of people, even fellow wings fans who can’t stand the guy. I’m in Canada so maybe that has something to do with it

Bruins in dead last haha wow

Dave and Shane for VGK are some of the goats. Unfortunately our intermission hosts are absolutely horrible and extremely obnoxious. Half the time they are talking about irrelevant nonsense. Dave and Shane deserve a higher rating though.

Vancouver is the best. Shorty and crew are great. We have a long history of amazing guys.

Josh and Razor at #3 is a firm but fair assessment. Detroit and Seattle do have phenomenal broadcast teams
FlashMan1981
Joe B and Laughlin are, indeed, great here in DC. Craig Laughlin especially has built a great bond with the community here both on air and with a lot of his work in youth hockey.
They are homers, but do a great job showing love to the other team when they deserve it. Laughlin actually got a great ovation when he rode in the Stanley Cup parade.

They are the only bright spot of a RW game

I would die for these two and I’m only 51% joking.

How about the Lightning? Thanks!

Not a Wing fan or follower but I straight up tune into their games sometimes just to listen. Being an outside party that doesn’t care about outcome they are a fucking pleasure to just appreciate
BehemothManiac
Yep, that’s correct, Ken and Mick are the best.
AlanWhickerNumber3
Unsurprisingly as a Jets fan, they are ranked #21 and almost zero of that is Dan Robertson’s fault!

Sam Rosen is a treasure and I dread the day he’s not around any more to yell « IT’S A POWER PLAY GOAL!!! »

Hearing Mickey and Ken call games is like watching a game with your grandparents. They are treasures and this comes as no surprise.

Calgary is right in the middle. As is tradition
Frog-of-Cosmos
No surprises here

Is it just me or does Mickey (just assuming his name is above his head since I have no idea who these guys are) look like Bryan Cranston and Patrick Stewart had a baby?

The NY Times just announced that the Blackhawks fired Chris Vosters and replaced him with Rick Ball.

Lived in Michigan my whole life. Ken Daniels is good. Redmond is not. I think their radio duo is far better
JasonEAltMTG
Edzo and John Forslund at #2 is acceptable lol

Easily

They are an awesome commentary duo. I never miss an opportunity to watch the Wings when they’re on Sportsnet so I can see them in action.

Washington Caps please

Considering how many markets the Athletic does not have writers in, this ranking is probably seriously flawed.
edit: fan-voted, OK, redeemed.
AbjectLawfulness6930
They are objective even against the wings, funny and high amounts of enthusiasm without being annoying. They announce the game in a way that makes the fans better.
It’s not even close.

Ken is great, Mickey is overrated

I’m 50 yrs old, and the majority of my memories of RW hockey are with Mickey. When I was 12, I went to Red’s Beresons UofM hockey camp, and Mickey came 1 day each week and coached us. Taught me how to backhand, never forget that. The guy is a gem.

Fucking right they are #1

I can’t stand Mickey Redmond lol. But to each their own I guess eh?

Man I miss the days of Ralph Strangis and Daryl (Razor) Reaugh for the Stars.

Flyers have 2 guys that do national games, albeit JJ only does the playoffs and should be more widely used. I get it that Hartnell brings the overall ratings down. How were we 22 last season?
Wolfinstien
They are the BEST!!!!
JasonPlattMusic34
Accurate ranking. Redmond is a national treasure… especially now that the Wings have been bad for a while and allowed him to unleash his inner annoyed grandpa 😛
