  1. First off, Lebrun asked Verbeek directly, and Verbeek said no comment.

Until he comments, everything else is just speculation.

Guhle or Reinbacher as a start? Not going to happen.

26th pick & Struble, take it or leave it

  2. defence isn't going anywhere , 2 years ago slaf then mesar in the first round , this year maybe demidov and at 26 artamonov pair of the russian , win win .

  3. i'm sorry, complete bullcrap. The ducks value a lot Zegras, only this "reporters" think they don't do. We got no replacement for him. Complete click bait.

  4. Zegras isnt even that great. Sure he’s a good player but considering Anaheim wants to trade him and zegras wants to leave. The price shouldn’t be stupid high. He can’t even win face offs.

  5. Well, i would do it, you go get Zegras for Reibacher, and then you draft one the top right Dman at fifth.

  6. Harris, Dvorak, struble and a top 3 protected 2025 first rounder unless the habs decide to fork over their 5th overall at the draft.

  7. Great report LR99!
    1. Ducks have to talk the player up to make trade palatable. If the malign him, no other team will want him.
    2. He's young and talented and needs a change of scenery.
    3. If I'm Kent Hughes…..I'm NOT mortgaging the farm for this kid. Hughes & Gorton have said all along they are building for the future and not looking to part with solid assets for an unknown (same goes for PLD). I would NOT part with prospective 1st and 2nd pair young "D" for Zegras.

  8. You always ask for alot. The value eventually drops to earth. Also, if they are actively shopping Zegras, then the relationship between he and Ducks is severed and over. The longer Ana waits, the less they will get for him.

  9. sorry MTL does not need Zegras. not the type of culture player habs need. to much money for zegras. i would not trade for zegras even with the talent he has. why does the team he plays for want to trade him?

  10. Well, if habs go ahead with this trade, it will weaken the team. Zegras has a certain value, not as high as that. Let's wait a bit. If another team is willing to destroy their team to acquire Zegras, go ahead, otherwise, the price will go down.
I'm ready to give the Jet's pick + a young defensman like Harris AND/OR Barron, but Guhle + Reinbacher worth more than just Zegras. While asking stupid thing, if they want Guhle + Reinbacher, add the 3rd overall pick with Zegras !

  11. No thank you. This is the stupid season. Montreal will find someone to dance. Kapanen will provide Montreal with a super solid top 3. Beck is probably your number 4 when it’s time to make a run. That means you need to find value for Dvorak this year to move him, and Evans at the deadline, whether you’re in the playoffs or not

  12. Struble + late pick + Owen Beck… if I'm the Ducks, I'm jumping on this simply because of Beck.

His play during playoff time reminds me of a potential Sam Bennett, whose stock is REALLY high right now. Love Jake Evans, but Beck should rapidly become an upgrade.

The reports coming out of Anaheim are nasty. Zegras' value will begin to plummet. The problem is, is Hughues in a position to make the best offer?

Lately, I've been thinking. I've been calling Zegras to MTL draft 2024 for over a year now. But Don Waddell getting himself the job in Columbus is now a factor. And this guy isn't afraid to pony up when needed, especially that he'll probably try to make a splash in Columbus. I can definitely see him going after Necas, but he might have the ammo to get Zegras as well. It ain't his roster, he has no attachment it.

Besides, the talks about Hughues moving up to secure Demidov are getting intense. I'm thinking that between paying a huge X to get Zegras or Necas, and paying that same X to Anaheim or Columbus + 5th might be the better road to go.

Can this season end already? I can't wait for things to get moving again 🙂

  13. stop putting Block shots as a good thing. Are you podcasts are dumb as a box of rocks defense should be clearing the front of the net for the goalie to block the shot. Just asked Shirkin from the Rangers so stop glorifying Block20 shots and Gooley will be a beast, when he plays defensive hockey, not shot blocking!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. A hockey trade or I’m out. Ducks don’t need more picks they need nhl ready young pieces in a return for zegras otherwise why trade him? Everyone wants the habs to get the bargain of the trade when the ducks are giving up a legitimate scorer …all for what again?

  15. Am I the only one that is tired of hearing about Zegras? Yeah we took a chance on a couple other guys similar to him and other then one being hurt right off the bat I think we can say they both worked out about as well as we can expect. But we don't need another one of those, we need an elite level scorer, a 90pt or more guy. Go after a guy like Rantanen and pay him 13million. The Avs have like zero draft picks the next few years so trade a bunch of those plus a prospect or two or include Dvorak or Anderson in the trade. Not to mention Av's sitting on 8 UFA's this offseason and 3 next they may be hard pressed with Cap issues especially if Landeskog comes off the IR at 7million a year. Anyway I'd just like to hear talk about going after a star player instead of random mids, we have a enough mids and honestly right now only really one star player. Lets make a move on proven. Other players could be Reinhart, Kaprizov, or was saying Draisaitl but with Edmonton going to the finals I think he resigns to go at it again, if they got knocked out early then I think he would have decided to leave.

  16. I dont want zegras on montreal , think about it we need size in the top 6 not another skill forward we have quite a few of those , i would give up alot for necas because hes much more of a fit and is way bigger and arguably just as good a player ,but i dont see this allure on zegras that people have

  17. When ppl say mtl fans don't have the patience for a rebuild they are talking about right now… now is the time to be patient and let the process continue not the time to say screw it and trade for flashy homerun that probably will not pan out… if u trade ghule it's in 2 years when we have 5 top 3 defenseman on the squad

  18. Yeah that's a no to trading Reinbacher or Guhle. Struble and the Jets 1st. If not then there's always Necas to pursue.

  19. Anaheim doesn't seem to be dealing from a position of strength. The seems high.If a lesser D-man and other assets," let's make deal."

  20. Why would anyone want Zegras? A small 60 point guy who is not gonna move the needle on any franchise. I get why Anaheim wants to move him but not why someone would trade for him at these prices. If he was that great, Anaheim wouldnt be looking to trade him….

  21. Nothin was revealed, it's just a guess from a reporter…do the exercise…what would the ducks want for Zegras, of course one of our best D prospects….duh

  22. Give them Mailloux and a second. Or savard and a second. Or Harris and a second. Don't trade the guys you haven't begun to evaluate yet. Barron and a second.

Not trading Guhle for Zegras, who may be a bust.

  23. The issue here is Anaheim wants to get more talented and bigger on defense…but we want to get talented AND bigger up front. Not saying I wouldn't trade either of Guhle or Reinbacher but this would give what Anaheim wants while falling short for us… so no deal from my perspective
