  1. Funny on how the assumption is that the Caps have to retain on Wilson but MM is a highly valuable asset when he's going to need a deal that is going to take him to 36 and probably be making almost double what Wilson makes. Love you guys but you're insane homers.

  2. Washington has nothing interesting that is also available for Toronto … they are also in a rebuild so anything on the young side is obviously off the table.

Toronto needs goaltending, better top4 defensemen, better offensive depth, if Washington were to provide most of that for Marner they are going straight down to the bottom of the league.

Charlie Lindgren, Sonny Milano, Nick Dowd, Dylan Strome for Marner and a couple draft picks ? Hell might as well sign Patch as a free agent at 850k too.

Everything Toronto needs fixing Washington has trouble with too.

  3. Tom Wilson For Mitch Marner…. "that's it?" "Well most of their top prospects" "You don't want a roster player?" What do you think Tom Wilson is? Is the roster player AND the cap space not enough??? Your right you get Ovi AND Dylan Strome as well, and the Capitals are going to retain half of each of their salaries as well.

  4. I can't wait until Marner gets traded for like a 2nd and B prospect or just walks in FA. Y'all are underestimating how tough it is to move an 11m contract

  5. They just gave Wilson a long term deal not that long ago, and they already move him? I don't think so. Plus why would Marner want to go to a Washington team that's a year or two away from going into a rebuild?

  6. McDavid might leave for a host of reasons. Weather , city , not close to family , Grew up a leafs fan and that's his only dream is playing here. They might want to start a family soon and would prefer being around parents. Also he's put in his time there. They just might a change in life.

  7. Normally you have a 50% chance of signing any player. But the Leafs are THE LEAFS, and they’re not normal, so the Oilers got a 25% chance AT BEST of re-signing McDavid. Now add a 3rd team in the offseason, like the Rangers, and their chances of re-signing him drastic go down.

See with a third team jumping in they’d have a 33 1/3% chance of signing him then. But the Rangers KNOW they can’t outbid the Leafs, and they’re not even gonna try. So Señor Ken, you take your 33 1/3% chance, minus my 25% chance and you got an 8 1/3% chance of winning the bidding war. But then you take my 75% chance of winning, if we bid head to head, and then add 66 2/3 per cents, the Leafs have a 141 2/3% chance of landing McDavid. See Dangle, the numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for Ken Holland in the offseason.

  8. maple laughs fans are so delusional they want a player out and think theyre getting a haul for him lmao, hes staying until next summer and leaves in free agency if toronto doesnt give him another contract

  9. No McDavid here, please. For crying out loud, haven't we Toronto fans learned our lesson by now? We have enough power forwards; McDavid will add absolutely nothing here we shouldn't already have. For those saying he'll be better than Matthews, there's a fair chance McDavid will go down in performance after he comes to Toronto on a hefty salary.

Why the f*ck do we keep jumping on the expensive shiny new bauble every five years, just so we can trash it a year later? We're like the 6-yr old kid demanding the next Nintendo platform every year.

  10. Just stop. Enough already.
Marner stays. The best Leaf team of all time makes the playoffs again.
The playoffs are tough. Let’s roll.

  11. Is Marner a 10 mil/ year player?
Legit outside of the too old guys like Tavares is there a 10 mil player they’d 1-1 marner for in the league?
    Doesn’t make him bad!
Just wondering if he’s overpaid because he p,ays in Toronto.

  12. They will need a 2nd line center, a top pair right shot d man, and a legit 1a/1b goalie as early as next year, of which Wilson is neither.
So why would you even talk about a trade like this? Makes no sense.

  13. Enough of this marner trade talk. You guys are talking about trading a future hall of famer for a bag of pucks just for the sake of trading him. This talking point is getting ridiculous.

  14. If Laf Fan thinks that you're going to get "fair value" in a Marner trade…you're smoking crack. You aren't getting "rosters players AND their BEST PROSPECTS". TOR is trading from a position of WEAKNESS…not strength.

  15. It's really funny that any Toronto fan would think the Caps would trade Wilson. Y'all have fun in your little Toronto media bubble where you think that other franchises are looking to move their core guys just because Toronto desperately needs to move one of theirs lmao. Y'all are crazy.

    Edit: "isn't Miro a defenseman?"
Man y'all gonna sit here trying to put together a "realistic" mock trade and don't even know what names you're playing around with.

  16. Washington is gonna take on marners contract ( plus a presumed extension ) and you think they would retain on Wilson?? You guys are just getting silly at this point.

  17. Your trying to move a player with a double digit cap hit, who will get complete control of where he goes. Leafs fans will have to lower there expectations on a return. The NMC immensely lowers the trade value

  18. Dangle belittles Marner non stop but then over values him when it comes to trades. Lol The Leafs could use a guy like Wilson

Edit – Bob Stauffer is reporting that Leon AND Bouch are set to take home town discounts to sign 8 years in the summer in Edmonton. If that happens it means McDavid is staying too

  19. You guys don’t even do your homework right! Caps have some of the best goalie depth in the league! Caps have 2 potential #1 goalies in Clay Stevenson and Mitchell Gibson. They have Calder Cup MVP goalie Hunter Shepard, along with Lindgren and Kuemper(3 years left which they will retain). For any forward talent like Marner, I’m sure 1 or 2 1st rounders will be asked for. Miro is a no and so Clay Stevenson.
