It’s always better if prospects earn their spot vs. handed their spot off of merit.
I do believe that at least one of Hutson, Reinbacher, or Mailloux will make the team out of camp.

With no trade we already know
Matheson, Savard, Kovacevic, Barron and Harris will be in Montreal because they are waiver eligible.
Guhle is exempt, but he’s too good.
Unfortunately, I don’t see how Reinbacher, Hutson or Mailloux starts with the Habs, regardless of how they perform in the training camp.

Engels, mister JOSH ANDERSON IS BREAKING OUT THIS YEAR…
He means well, but damn he doesn’t know when to shut up sometimes.

I want to see at least one of Hutson or Mailloux get a chance out of camp, but I’m not necassarily opposed to seeing them in Laval either
I do think Reinbacher should start in the AHL though, I’m not convinced he quite ready yet, and it gives us some time to see who else amongst the non exempt waiver players is worth keeping and investing in.

they really need to figure the defense.
We have 11 defensemen that could start in the NHL next season… That’s a ridiculous amount of surplus players.
I think that’s very demoralizing for our young defensemen.
