Mitch Marner sur le bloc commercial ? : 5 points d’atterrissage possibles

Cela pourrait être intéressant. Parayko serait une perte difficile, mais il y a beaucoup de bons défenseurs en agence libre https://bvmsports.com/2024/06/10/mitch-marner-on-trade-block-5-possible-landing-spots/

I’d rather have 55 than Marner. I’ve said it before, but Marner just isn’t a good fit for a Blues team that already has problems showing up every night. Sure he’d be fun to watch in the regular season, but this year made it pretty obvious he’s not willing to play the type of hard hockey that STL fans expect from their players.

Good: Blues fans get the first Hull-caliber player since Hull, probably return to making playoffs. Kryou nets 40 goals.

Bad: Lose depth, perhaps for a long time if salary is tied up in Marner’s contract, will not be a serious cup contender until ’28 or so when we can rebuild the annihilated defense in this trade scenario.

Notes: Not sure if salary retention is even an option for TOR where they stand on the cap. Berube could have some sway in making STL a trade partner if TOR is serious. Glad this speculation doesn’t include Binnington, who should retire a Blue.

This is laughable. Marner is a great player, no doubt. However, in this scenario, the Blues:

    – lose their best player at a position that is already their weakest.
    – lose another defensemen, that while hasn’t worked out so far in St. Louis, is still another playerwith potential at their weakest position
    – lose a young, cost-controlled offensive asset that we spent a 1st round pick on

    For:

    – Mitch Marner – a player with one year of control left on his deal

Overall, I’d love to have Marner on the team. However, if I were DA, I’d offer Toronto a single 4th or 5th round pick on him while understanding that this is a cap dump for the Leafs.

Would not want to give up Leonard for this little boy

That move makes zero sense for the Blues.

Trading Parayko and Perunovich doesn’t make sense, defense would be shredded, and there would be too much cap upfront.

If we are trading from the backend it has to be Krug or Faulk, and Buchnevich+.

They might over value Snuggerud to play with Knies. Maybe Buchnevich + Snuggerud + Perunovich gets it done.

He’s not coming here. If he leaves Toronto, he’s a rental and will 100% go to FA. We aren’t buyers.

The Maple Leafs would never make that trade, and it’s laughable that many Blues fans appear to think the Blues shouldn’t give up Parayko for Marner.

Parayko is the best defenseman on a bad defense. He is also not the number 1 defenseman on any serious contender. He was bad for at least two years prior to this year. He’s not going to drive possession or a ton of offense, and his rebound season happened to coincide with Binnington putting up numbers that arguably should have made him a Vezina finalist. Perunovich is meh, and Bolduc will never be Marner. Marner would instantly be the best offensive player on this team full stop. It’s pretty easy to see him continuing to put up 90 points a year alongside Rob Thomas. It’s amazing that people will shit on a player who has consistently thrown up 90+ points a year because he « underperformed » on a team that had to get through Florida, Boston, and/or Tampa to make it out of the East. Give me Marner and your downvotes every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I think the underperforming narrative is overblown, but let’s ice a playoff team and see for ourselves, eh? Right now, this roster needs superhuman goaltending to even get a whiff of the playoffs. Colton Parayko leaving isn’t making or breaking this team.

It makes no sense for us, a team looking to improve defense, to trade our best defenseman.

    Move along

  10. stltk65

We could do it…..then flip him the day after

  11. jmred19

Just cannot afford to lose our best defenseman. Already weak enough on defense. So no way
