rangers not given Lindgreen a ridiculous contract they they will end up regretting. He’s a great player but he’s hurt a lot . No more then $4 million a year or get rid of him
Rangers are not buying out Trouba. They have 2 more years with him and if they buy him out he is on the cap for 6 more years not worth it. They will have hime come back next season and if he does not play well they will trade him and pay half the contract remaining on the final season. Common sense needs to be applied here.
Buyout would mean 4 million in dead cap for next two season and then 2 million in dead cap for the 2 seasons thereafter….I think they can find a trade partner, especially if they dangle Kakko or chytil or a first and take back 1-2 million in salary the first year

For mailbag episodes: you should do an episode on the rising salary cap and how Drury should use it. Should he spend to the cap this offseason and maybe get Guentzel? In other words go 100% all in jeopardizing the future or save and prepare for Shesty and Laf? This would require another budgetary free agency with no Guentzel no Marchessault etc.

Trouba and Miller on the same line just does not work and this has a lot to do with Trouba not being a play maker he is slow and undecided. Miller on the other hand likes to feed and make plays and we have seen this during the season. Being a captain and a leader you protect your players and commend their play and makes sure the team as a whole have no issues and Trouba never did this. To be a Captain and leader you have to have COJONES and be FIRM.

If buying him out in fact results in a $4MM annual charge against the salary cap (I've read elsewhere that it's $2MM), then a buyout effectively reduces the Rangers' salary cap by almost 5% and they get nothing in return. That's nuts. They won't do that.

Trouba needs to be gone while he still has some value. Organization needs to make it clear that no one is safe in pursuit of the cup. He is old and slow with terrible hockey IQ. Makes the worst decision possible and take bad penalties because he is way too slow to react. Compare him to someone like Forsling. Heck even Fox, Miller, and Schneider. Lavy recognized that Trouba is regressing and put him on the 3rd pairing. Canes and Pathers consistently exploited Trouba. He needs to be gone at all cost. I don’t care what it costs us but getting rid of him needs to be a priority.
