@mmb321 He never hit him with his elbow, he hit him with his shoulder. And he was admiring his pass. Now with the new rules, it is classified as a dirty hit, but when it happened it was perfectly legal.
@bags258 i totally agree. I'm a born and raised sabres fan and i have never once had a huge problem with this hit. What i do have a problem with (along with many other people) is the inconsistantcy of the NHL. Matt Cooke was suspended 2 games for an almost identical hit (it was still before the hit to the head rule), got nothing for his hit on savard, and richards only got a fine for his hit on boothe. They were all such similar hits if u suspend 1 of them, u gotta suspend all of them.

@Killdo2112 How can you possibly put those guys in the same basket? Cooke should be banned for life. Neil plays physical (mostly) clean hockey and contributes offensively. Plus kicks ass and takes names.

It wasn't an elbow! You can clearly see that he lifts his elbow when drury is on his way down. It was the shoulder that hit the head, and that is clean
Neil contributes more offensively than Cooke? Then why does he only have one 30+ points season while Cooke has seven of them? Cooke is also great on the PK and is easily a better player than Chris Neil.
