First top 3 finish for a Canucks GM since Mike Gillis won in 2011.
Jim Benning came 6th in 2020 – because voters had an aneurysm I presume (or a hot goalie carrying you to game 7 of Round 2 means your GM is good I guess?)

Not to take away from Dallas but Allvin was robbed. He turned around the franchise completely from one of the worst teams in 22-23 to top of pacific division in 23-24 within a span of a couple of months.

I think Alvin lost points because he didn’t do anything on deadline day which is where the media goes hype and crazy, which is inane and dumb in hindsight.
Fuckin let Alvin and JR cook, they’ve shown in limited time what they can do with this team. can’t wait til we aren’t saddled with OEL buyout

Let the summer of Canucks being slighted at the Awards officially begin. Petterson should have won the Lady Byng over Slavin. Such a weird choice. Same thing here, Nill won last year and is a great GM that drafts well and put together a competitive team. But if we’re talking about a year over year comparison, Allvin made way more progress. At the very least throw it to Zito who took his team to the Finals back to back years.

Big offseason, Allvin has raised the bar for this franchise.

You’re #1 in our hearts, Allvin 🥲🫶🏻

Friedman mentioned that a key consideration for some was Rutherford being the final decision maker. I bet that was part of this outcome.

At least he lost to an ex Canuck from the ’82 team.

Guaranteed the two dumbfucks who voted for Holland were Spec and Matheson.

Allvin would’ve wanted first.
But even then, he doesn’t give a shit about a trophy that isn’t the cup.

I think it’s worth noting that Allvin’s two biggest moves happened last season (Horvat/Hronek trades and Tocchet signing).

What is the point of announcing it before the ceremony? Why have the awards show?
Zamboni2022
Can anybody tell me exactly what Nill did this year to deserve the award over our guy? Dude’s team has already been built for a long time, you can’t really count drafting Hintz/Robertson/Heiskanen/Stankoven/Johnston for this season can you…

Patrik said he’s not content. 1st place next year please Patty, you can do it buddy!

Ken holland got 2 top 2 votes for .mishandling a cup favourite at the deadline ans off-season every year. Cool

I’m just glad we have a GM that’s even in the upper third of this list

This is the stupidest award in professional sports.
The moves that build a winning team occur over the course of years and isn’t something that anyone can judge on a year to year basis.

It’s just refreshing having someone competent and someone to restructure and expanded the front office and org depth overall.
