@Flames de Calgary

    I love how people just assume every player is available

    I don’t think two teams competing for Markstrom would help facilitate a trade to see him go to a competing bidder.

    I do think the Flames could/would take Korpisalo back from Ottawa but only because it’s lending a helping hand and would increase the return in the trade. Weaponizing cap space. That’s only if there’s a way to move Vladar out and if the Flames feel like Wolf/Vladar and Wolf/Korpisalo is much the same. In my opinion it is. The kicker is Markstrom, and what appetite does he have to agree to go to Ottawa with Toronto and New Jersey also in the mix.

    To add a bit more intrigue is the thought that Montreal may very well want to select Tij at 5, and if they don’t, Utah will at 6. So if Conroy wants Tij bad enough, Montreal will have to have other forward prospects that they like and be willing to swap draft positions with Calgary. Is Conroy willing to spend draft capital to get Tij, and is Montreal willing to swap? Why is this important? Is the 9th spot ok with Montreal? Or does it have to be Ottawa’s 7th, essentially strong arming Conroy to make a deal with Ottawa? Of course, all depending on Montreal willingness to move down, which it does sound like they have more than one forward in that grouping that they fancy.
