  1. From what I saw, every time the Oil got the puck deep there was 2 panthers and 1 oiler digging for it. There was also 2 panthers hanging around the oiler most likely to get the pass out. Also there was generally no defense joining the rush, they were going for the long breakout pass and not hoining the rush.. If there was a fight for the puck in the panther's zone near the blue line, both defense were backing off to the red line. All to defend shaky Skinner and reduce shots.
To fix this the defense needs to go into offense mode at every opportunity and go back to what worked all season. Try to win 5-4 instead of 2-1. Desperate times call for a change.

  2. this thing is all over. Oilers are completely deflated now. Cats are dominating the hell out of them. Still a fork in it, its done

  3. The list is endless when describing the Oilers game play. Unforced turnovers. Too many passes., not enough shots. The dump and chase fore checking by the Oilers is horrendous. No one is even anywhere near where the puck is being dumped. Skinner lets in too many saveable goals in every game. You cannot win the Cup with a team that consistently does these things.

  4. Probably the Panthers collapsing on every play. You can tell they are coached to dive and embellish.

  5. Lots of reasons. Florida outplayed them,. penalties are suspect. Oilers get 5 minute kneeing penalty, Bennett does same thing to Bouchard and gets 2. Oilers on power play and Florida puts puck over glass. No penalty. McDavid gets breakaway, gets hooked, stick between legs, no call. Then bad penalties by Edmonton last 4 minutes.

  6. How Ken Holland decided Skinner was a decent enough goalie in the mix is baffling. Here is Holland; an architect of the Red Wings rosters when they were winning Cups and how he thought Skinner would be enough is beyond me.
The Oilers need a better goalie not to allow 2 goals on 5 shots and series would at least be tied.

  7. What hurt was the offense…again. Bad lines. You have to go for it now down 2. Draisaitl with Mcdavid. RNH Centers line 2 with Henrique and Kane. Holloway down. Gagner in. Broberg up to 2nd pairing. This for starters. They need goals. 3 games now with little or no offense. Just 3 goals for. Time to mix things up. They can't go down 3-0.

  8. Your playing a steamroller that is only picking up more steam. Edmonton HAS to win game three or this is over in 4. You don't get second chances against Florida

  9. the team is so relying on Mcdavid to skate the whole rink and score everytime. he can't do it all. great teams that win get support.

  10. Anyone acting like the refs didn't play a role is INSANE. Also, anyone acting like the Oilers making ridiculous mistakes is also insane.

  11. Edmonton looks very much like the Florida Panthers from last year. Finally made it to the finals, after some very emotional series. The home ice might help them get the spark back, but I feel like they might have too much injury to their big names (Nurse, and Kane) again similar to Florida last year, to get 4 out of the next 6.

  12. That officiating was bad hard to watch didn’t know two guys running into each other was 5 and a game , the way that panther acted it looked like his leg broke but amazing he came back lol

  13. Defense, period.
Connor absolutely needs to be accountable for not covering on the back check on at least 1 of the goals last night.
