Karlsson literally runs our offense… he had 40 points in 50 games. His defense is suspect sometimes but so is burns. What the real problem is and has been is our goaltending!!! We’re lucky to have karlsson

  2. It's funny that the Sharks biggest issues are the Karlsson contact and them not having their first round pick. Both a direct result of one decision

  3. They can't afford a rebuild right now, Couture is 31 and Karlsson turns 30 so a retool makes more sense, although Burns is 35 with FIVE more years at 8 000 000 so he's likely washed after a retool (unless they pull off a "rangers-retool" and are competitive again 2 years after selling off pieces)

  4. I dont know how other people feel and would like to know, but as a Sharks fan im just not ready to sink money into Labanc he shows flashes yes, but hes always been to inconstant to make me feel comfortable to keep around. I feel like the best thing they could do is either resign him to a safe contract that can be easily traded to another team, or just flat out let him walk if he wont come back cheap again. Seems like a cool kid but I really dont see him being worth a long term building block in San Jose

  5. I feel like the other thing people have to take into consideration is that both Ek65 and Kane have had miscarriages(well their wives did but ya) Kane last year, and EK i beleive 2 years ago. And having a close friend who has now been through 2 miscarriages of their own, back to back, to be supportive to their wives and any children they already have plus heal on their own, that's a huge deal to process mentally, emotionally, and if they're religious at all its also something you have to process spiritually, so if its taken EK a couple years to get his head back in the game on top of everything else then i get that. Kane ive been Amazed with how strong hes come back cause you could deff see the drop off after it happened last year.

  6. I have a question that's sort of related to this. PDB used the same system from last year (get puck low, to high and shoot for tips and rebounds) but pavs was gone. My question is why does it seem that NHL coaches don't have multiple ways to play their team? Like if a 1-2-2 forecheck isn't working switch to a 2-3.

  7. I think the defense is too offensively minded. I really think Burns should be moved up to forward and that would help with scoring and let's be hones, it would help with our defense as well. With jones and Dell in net, we need a rock solid defense that isnt leaned on to score goals

  8. It makes me sad to think that Dell isn't gonna get a contract when Jones is the one who's under performing

  9. I don't think its time to rebuild, its pretty simple we just need to start playing better. karlsson and burns had a -20 plus minus, yes plus minus can be considered an overrated stat, but that's terrible. jones is playing terrible, we had so many injury's. I think if we have a healthy season next year and play decent we easily make the playoffs.

  10. Hey at least they have a good chance to rebuild the team with a high chance of winning the draft lo… oh that's right.

  11. Shannon you did not mention the Brinson Pasichnuk college free agent signing in your video or the John Leonard signing (former college player). These were two back to back college pick ups for San Jose last week.

  12. The downfall of this team this year was the regression of LaBanc and DW's belief that we had enough young prospects to pick up the scoring lost by the departure of Pavs and Donskoi in general. Another troubling trend I noticed this year was how weak we were in the faceoff circle. Needs to be addressed. I think the world of Cooch but he's known to be weak at faceoff. Don't know stats exactly but I'd venture to say Goodrow was the best faceoff man and he was shipped to TB. Another observation on blue line no one's speaks of was the departure of Braun. I really think Vlasic missed him this year. Braun is a safe and very reliable D man. Before the season was cut short the need for scoring became apparent. I am not a huge Karllson guy but we have him for the duration. Sharks should consider moving Burns back to forward again and let his recklessness become a strength not a weakness. Karllson has to be healthy for that to work. Also I think we found a real gem in Ferraro. I dig his compete level and think he has tons of upside. Noesan has been signed for another year. I also thought Karllson became a consolation prize when we lost the Tavares sweepstake. I believe Tavares was what we needed. A number one or two center to replace jumbos declining numbers. Love these guys and miss the sport. Cheers

  13. Great video. I do think John Leonard and Brinson Pasichnuk could step in and make a difference

  14. When Vlasic becomes a negative defenseman just look at his partner. Hello EK
The Sharks already had plenty of offence from the back end.The Karlsson signning was a mistake and that showed by their poor season. Just like I expected.

  15. Sharks problem has been mainly goaltending!!! Jones has just fallen apart. Defense hasn’t helped a lot this year but Jones has been the problem. The issue with jones is his contract as well

  16. Jones isn’t a great goalie anymore but he’s not as bad as his stats represent. It’s the fact that Karlsson and Burns allow so many high opportunity chances from right in front of him. It’s almost embarrassing as a long time fan of the team to see how bad Karlsson is on defense. The front office should honestly sit him down and ask him to play forward

  17. as a sharks fan, i can admit we sucked this year, weve had years of sucess making the playoffs in the past and i dont really mind going on a rebuild. trade jones to a team who needs a goalie and sign a goalie who had decent stats and resign dell

  18. Pretty accurate take on SJ. No way Jumbo retires I don’t think. Hoping for big bounce back overall. Uncomfortable with Jones/Dell but goaltending is fickle everywhere.

  19. Guys playing hurt and key injured guys. Young forwards underachieving plus the coaching changes all played huge roles this past year. They finally had a solid 4th line that wasn't costing them games, huge additions with Gambrell, Gregor and M. Karlsson, they clicked well

  20. I think Doug Wilson needs to go. He went all in and gave everybody 8 year deals and look how that's turning out. We have no money, we have no prospects, we have no picks.

  21. As a former Ottawa Senator fan I have watched EK 65 play from his first NHL game to the present .This is what I have witnessed to my horror.1Erik is still among the top three players in the world but when he went to the Sharks Burns would not pass the puck to him as Burns only wants to win the Norris Trophy .2 you do not let one of the greatest players in the world get pounded and beaten up and do nothing about it nobody beat up Gretzky and 99 ran wild 3 . for the last two years I have said the Sharks were not near tough enough to play NHL hockey and I was correct. 4 You may not agree with me but I am certain that I am correct .

  22. Karlsson is the 4th highest-paid player in the league. Unless he is in contention for Hart and Norris trophies for the next 7 years, this is one of the worst contracts in the league.
