@Oilers d'Edmonton

#hockey #faits saillants #finalesnhl #nhl #playoffhockey #edmontonoilers #floridapanthers

  1. Delay of game penalty – During the CBC broadcast, Ron Maclean (level 5 official) explained that this was a penalty based on the contact of the shot occurring before the blue line. I agreed with that and found the rule book to further this argument. The determining factor is where the puck position was when it was shot. My interpretation initially was that this would be the first point of contact, but the counter argument is that the position of the puck is determined by last contact of stick not initial contact of stick. That does make sense and in that case, the right call was made. I appreciate the discourse!

  2. Let’s keep this simple. Leon should be out for as long as Barkov is out. An eye for an eye.

  3. Paul Maurice set it best nobody's been arrested yet and game one of the Rangers series Panthers are a dirty team they deserve everything they've got coming to them. If they're Captain is out then then so be it he wants to stand there and interfere with Leon D , really ? Complain ? Your up 2-0

  4. Lmfao, draisaitl looking like Tony Jaa with that flying elbow that would be a brutal finishing move in a movie, I swear only canuck players get suspended in the finals, if that was a canuck with the flying elbow to the face, he would be suspended 5 games before the game is even over. 😂

  5. The officials didn’t have the balls to call it what it was on the ice—Major and a game for a flying elbow.

  6. Your 4:40 comment is wrong. They explain that the puck has to come off the stick before the blue line to be a penalty. Its obvious on replay past the blue line coming off his stick. So what you should have said was the rule and it was clearly past the blue line on release of the puck. It's basically the same as the red line. You can make contact with the puck before the redline but it has to be past the redline to dump it in.

  7. Calling Bennett's penalty stupid is inaccurate. the oiler tried to dodge the hit which lead to the hip on knee, Bennett was already committed to the hit

  8. Oilers got plenty of calls going their way. They had plenty of chances. They just got outplayed.

  9. I wonder how the sting of the karma train feels, eh oilers? They should have NEVER got by Canucks. FLA my just throw one in edm so they can bring the cup home.

  10. Don't get how nobody is talking about how hunched over Barkov was as well as him looking at the puck instead of his surroundings, rough was the right call.

  11. 4:45 I don't think the rule reads quite like that. Contact that send it over did not happen in defensive zone. Because there was that contact outside the zone after that… And that is where the contact sending it flying happened.

There is no Initiated contact on that rule. Assume if there was you could get puck in defensive zone, hold contact to offensive zone and there send it over and it would be penalty… because it was "initiated" in defensive zone.

  12. Contact behind the line, left the stick past the line … the ref's got the non-puck-over-the-boards called right. The rule-book showed here doesn't address the entire shot.

  13. wow, kris knobpolisher finally showed a little bit of emotion. he still looks like the biggest goof ever, though

  14. Florida has been diving the entire play offs and their fans just eat it up. It is hockey, not soccer or basketball. Mcdavid was bleeding from the face and just kept playing, if that was Florida they would still be rolling around on the ice right now acting like they were shot with a gun.

  15. EDM hasn't scored a goal 5v5 since game 5 against DAL.. but according to Oilers Twitter.. this is all the refs fault.. 😛

  16. U gotta put an end to this BS that Drei did. Its just disgusting… I mean physical play is fine, but intentionally taking out the main players of the opponent is effed up.

  17. That 5 minute major was complete GARBAGE, you could clearly see the Edmonton player just as legs are making contact he straightens his leg and jumps so as to avoid the obviously unintended knee on knee…. the officiating in the 1st 2 games is atrocious, as they've missed many many clear cut penalties against Florida. With 2-0 leads in both games refs call 2 bullsh!t calls against Edmonton with 10 minutes left…. its very clear Bettemans influence over the officials to make sure no Canadian team wins the cup is extremely evident….

  18. This is the way the game should be played ,li is not a game of dwindle winks ,good ole 70s hockey stop the crying

  19. Anyone saying Drai should be suspended is so laughable, none of y’all calling out Bennett for sucker punching McDavid in the middle of the ice, same way he took out Brad Marchad from Boston.

Did y’all miss that? Bennett got no penalty for that, so yea Drai responded and now y’all are all mad about it. And Drai took a penalty for that, when Bennett got none.

Foegele gets thrown from the game for the same hit Bennett did on Bouchard and still no call on Bennett.

    Just stupid and dirty.

  20. Your videos are usually spot on but this one was filled with that good ol oiler loving 🤮
