Those names mentioned u going to have to pay $9-9.5 million for those defenceman. Trade Marner go get Seth Jones. Jones is same age of those guys and cost the same.
If they sign one or two of these what about the goaltending? Who can the Leafs sign? Maybe I missed it, Andrew, but I would like to see you address the goaltending need.

Well they cant trade Marner because he is not going to wave so the only way is to go with the cheaper options or the one big name and a back up goalie I also think Martin Jones should stick around a bit longer i thought he played well on a fill in role when both goalies were hurt last year
Personally I’d be trying move both Kampf and Jarnkrok if they are just going to be 4th liners, which is likely. I don’t hate either player, but Kampf is quite overpaid for that role, and Jarnkrok is just too soft imo. I think both players could be replaced with ~1M players that bring as much or more to this lineup, saving us an additional $2.5M. As for the D, I think two signings would be great. Or one D in a marner deal plus 1 signing. Need to deal with goaltending too though. I think any of the players you mentioned are entirely doable, just need to be agressive and potentially get creative as well

Depending on how the Marner situation works out, Walker and DeMelo, Right shot for both, and shouldn't cost as much as Pesce and Montour

Your scenario where Marner is traded completely ignores what they get in return. You’re not trading him for picks only. In no scenario are they able to get a couple of those names. You are also not winning anything with Holmberg as your 3C so you would need that upgraded via trade. Could you end up with two stud d men? Sure, Marner for Theodore and Karlsson, sign Tanev, and Brossoit. That would be an interesting way to go about it
