@Sabres de Buffalo

Les Sabres devraient-ils ajouter un gardien de but suppléant cet été ?

Casey DeSmith des Canucks de Vancouver conviendrait aux Sabres s’ils décident de faire jouer Devon Levi une autre saison à Rochester.

  1. I would just target a #3 goalie because Levi is ready to be a backup. I say the Sabres should play UPL around 48 to 50 games max and Levi 32 to 34 games. Devi's advanced stats are better than his goalie stats and that is telling. Just run with the 2 of them together. My biggest concern with UPL is injuries, thats why if you can get a good #3 goalie we should be ok. My target would be Chris Dreidger, he does good in the AHL and not terrible if he plays a few NHL games.

  2. I would keep Levi and UPL in Buffalo and sign a journey men – veteran goalie for Rochester like Subban , Tokarski or Martin Jones to bring up in case of injury . Thanks for the video.

  3. These experts you speak of that say a goalie has to play over 100+ games in the AHL/ECHL are the same "experts" that say a goalie has to be a certain height to be successful in the NHL and they should be taken with a grain of salt. Levi dominated in the playoffs in Rochester and is another indication that he doesn't belong in the AHL and really there is nothing more it can do for him AND in fact may hurt his development. He needs to be in the NHL and if you've followed Devon you'd realize he has rose to dominate at every level he has played and soon it will be the NHL. UPL will be given the first crack to be the starter but as soon as he faulters Levi will pounce. Ruff is from the old days and surely skeptical of Levi but wait until he sees Levi and practices with Levi. One more thing to take into account is UPL didn't start playing well until it was clear it was his net and Levi was out of the way which to me isn't a good sign that UPL can handle competition with another goalie.

  4. If Dustin Wolf, Jesper Wallstedt, and Yaroslav Askarov – all goaltending prospects that are as good as or better than Levi – can spend some time in the AHL, there is no reason that Levi can't do it. Levi played well at times, but showed rebound control problems in some games, including the AHL playoffs. UPL should get the majority of the starts regardless of the other goaltender, and, if Levi is on the Sabres, he can get his 25-30 games as the backup.
