  1. He's in the right age range for the Canadiens to be interested.
Does Colombus need some D prospects?

  2. Also Kotkaniemi had a full 82 game season last season, 18 goals 25 assists…and then 7 points in 15 playoffs game……idk if it's "standout" but it's still a solid NHL season and proof he can do well in this league

  3. Laine said he would like a "fresh start", so in that sense, I feel like Utah would make the most sense for him. Fresh start at a fresh team, and then see where it goes from there… and also because I don't think most teams are going to want to touch Laine with a ten foot pole with his current salary, but maybe, maybe. Wish my fellow Finn good luck wherever he ends up.

  4. Very tough to hear this about my team but theyre right. Id love to get even an even trade for laine but i doubt it. At least something we can hold on to moving forward would be great.

  5. I thought Laine and Gaudreau would complement each other well. Maybe on the Flames it would have worked better. If I was Columbus I would look to dump Gaudreau too.

  6. Regardless of which team gets Laine, the trade will include a first round pick. It will probably be a conditional pick based on either games played or goals scored, so if he doesn’t come back like Laine of old his new team is covered. Because of the conditions, it’s likely that any pick coming back would be from the 2025 or 2026 drafts.

As for the rest of the return, maybe a B or C tier prospect and an inefficient contract, preferably a defensive player.

Maybe a trade built around Nurse-Laine (although a player like Nurse coming back probably completely voids my earlier comment about a first rounder) could work.

  7. Laine third line on the leafs. I mean what’s been the problem in the playoffs not scoring so take a chance on the guy who has shown he can score

  8. For experienced veteran to sign to a 1 year deal to teach the youth, why not 1 year of Corey Perry?

  9. Montreal all the way , the jets first and a secondary prospects/young nhler . Montreal talks about culture and players desire to play in montreal , specifically be coached by st.louis . Its only a 2 year commitment to Laine if hes not a fit .

  10. I wouldn't know how to make it happen but I would want to see Laine on the panthers, albeit he wouldn't fit in the top 6, he'd be on a 3rd line replacing Tarasenko then.

  11. If the wind gusts a little too hard Laine ends up out for 2-3 weeks with an injury. Can he score? Yes. Can he stay on the ice? Doesn't seem like it.

    Not worth much right now.

  12. Laine is a scoring freak when he is properly fed. When he was with Winnipeg, we let him live in his house and fed him the puck. He wasnt a play maker, defensivly he was…well not so much. But if he is supported properly he can get lots of goals. I was sad to see him go and our power play hasnt been the same since. It was sad to watch him flounder in Columbus. Hope he does well in his next role. I think he would fit in nicely with Carolina. Of course i would love to see him come back! I cant see him doing well in Boston. Weird fit.

  13. Why is nobody saying Detroit? The Red Wings have prospects, cap space and a NEED for a scorer. I think it would work.

  14. Why would anyone want him? No charavter at all. Csnt handle getting paid to play hockey. Pathetic.
