Il s’agit, à mon avis, de la victoire la plus dominante en Coupe depuis les années 1980. You're correct about quick, an absolute animal.
This and 93 are the best Kings runs ever and unforgettable. Would you ever do a vid on the Kings on how they have slipped and maybe talk about The Downfall of the Kings and maybe how they can get back to being a contender?
1012 was a such a crazy year.
I was only 19 at the time.
Absolute dominance start to finish. They were 9-0-0 on the road until game 4 of the finals when they lost in NJ. What seemed like an easy path in 2012 would be nothing like their 2014 run though.
They were up 3-0 in every series. And won it as an 8th seed. That was an insane run. 1976 Habs were also up 3-0 in all series but they skipped the first round then and only played three series.
Jeff Carter to this day is booed heavily in Columbus. Almost as bad as Adam Foote.
Kiiiiings
Mitchell missed the 2012/13 season, and 2013/14 was his last full season. Special teams were fantastic, 5 SHG, only 6 allowed PPG, led all series 3:0, 10 consecutive road victories, … yet they were only 8th seeded team that year!
I wasn't alive to see it, but from what I've seen from rewatching the run, what about dominik Hasek from 1999? I know he didn't win the cup, but it was the same type of dominance as quick showed that year and that Thomas showed the year prior.
Good god the Kings walked to the stanly cup. I think there lucky they didn't have to play against Blackhawks Sharks or the Ducks like they had too in 2014
Sigh ….Here we go.
This is a bit biased as im a wings fan but the perfect 8-0 run in 52 and sawchuck might be one of the best playoff runs in history for a goalie only letting in two goals total in the finals
The 1012 jokes aren't funny anymore let's actually discuss this video now
1995 Devils were more dominant. They were an average team who swept a star studded Detroit in the Cup finals. I believe they also had a 16-4 run in the playoffs as well.
Subtle roast on the Caps was much appreciated
Love your channel, but you on wrong on Jeff Carter. He got completely screwed by Philly after signing that discount deal with them and was 100% pissed off he got traded to Columbus.
You should do a series on controversial things in the nhl
I was a sad boy during these finals. I love the Devils and I was super hyped when they beat the Rangers. Then this fucking Kings team came out of nowhere
HASEK!!!!!!
The 2012 Kings would have clobbered the 2011 Bruins.
What's most shocking to me is that I don't think they had a winning season that year.
2nd best final ever my 2nd team won so i was very happy
Looking back, LA fought hard in this playoff run but as a Devils fan I still hate them!
8th seed. Not to forget.
Lookingg back at this in 2018…..it looks like Vegas might tie or beat this record.
Insanity.
4:50 um…
man they had an easy path to the cup
To funny
Watch your comment at the end of the 4th min
And then Boom. Lol
That 4-0 against St Louis is a little deceiving. In spite of the series record, that was one of the closest and toughest series I've ever seen. Quick was definitely the difference. The Blues made the Kings earn it.
2012: Dominance 2014: Resilence. 2012- 1st team to go up 3-0 in all 4 playoff series. Mitchell was also healthy in 2014. Best FA signing LAK might've ever had.
Can u break down the 2014 king's as well. And I agree with all of this, good vid and GKG👍
Well Sharon, the Bolts fulfilled your worries a couple years later about being the first President's Cup team to get swept.

2018-19 LIGHTNING: Hold our beers (and dignity)
As a Devils fan, it was heartbreaking to lose that series, but L.A. deserved it
is there a championship Mike Richards hasn't won?? memorial cup, calder cup world juniors, Olympics, Stanley…. did I miss any?
Cup Final – Kings take 3-0 lead; Devils win the next two, but then very early in Game 6 they're burned with a Major taken behind Quick's net – end of story
There is a very high chance that New York could have beaten them had they gotten past the Devils in the ECF, in a run similar to Carolina's 2006 run.
ah those poor teams that get humiliated by the Kings here…
I have posted this story on a few videos, but here goes. The wife has been a Kings fan since the 70's, me from 91 (first NHL game I went to was in 91).
The Kings squeaked into the play offs, we were so certain the Kings were going out in the first round we booked a family trip to Ireland right at the end of the first round….Well that left us scrambling to figure out what to do, we ended up buying a slingbox and setting it up so stream the games to our laptop. Fast forward to the St Louis games, 3am in the morning watching the games in the lobby at the Lough Eske castle. The staff noticed me and came over to figure out what was going on….Well by game 3 the laptop had been hooked up to a TV and half the graveyard staff were watching the games. If you go to Donigal even now, there is a whole group of Kings fans.
2012 Canucks: Fewest wins by Presidents Trophy winner in the playoffs
2019 Lightning: Hold my beer 🍺
2:18 that would come 2.5 years later, bud
this stanley cup run was what got me into hockey and i've never looked back. really glad i went looking for a video of yours on it, because you make great hockey content.
i appreciate the Jonathan Quick love (still one of my favorite players and now i find myself wanting vegas to win if LA cant do it this year. i mean. Quick AND Martinez?? cmon). i also appreciate the mike richards jersey! he was also one of my favorite players
Back here in 2023 glad to see Johnathon Quick getting love for his performance that year I got to see game 2 of the finals that year and as a Devils fan I Fr I had nothing but shock for how great he was
I remember thinking in the preseason as Kings traded for Richards that this might be their year. Then they were pretty bad (well outside of a playoff spot) until they got Jeff Carter and was lights out for the end of the season. Really if you look at their numbers post Carter they were one of the best teams in the league, and obviously dominated the playoffs. Real fun year to follow!
