Go wings
Great episode guys, LGRW
Thanks guys
I'd be all for getting Necas. Obviously just depends on the price.
Husso, Fabbri and a 1st for either Merzļikins and Laine or for Sharangovich and Markström. Buyout Holl and Copp, play Danielson and Kasper. Bring back Kane and sign Raymond and Seider. Trade Määttä and Walman or Chiarot to make room for Edvinsson and Johansson. Sign a good right shot D.
Hopefully Steve can melt Columbus' brains and convince them into taking Copp our 2025 2nd and a B-tier prospect say (buium) for Laine with 2.7 mil retained
Ya I’m not dealing kasper or danielson for necas😂 … much rather be aggressive and move up in the draft and get an eiserman/catton. If we’re going for a necas/zegras I’d rather deal a 2025/2026 top 10 protected pick and a few 2nds, wallinder/Soderblom … mazur last resort … not dealing any of our previous 1st rounders
Berggren over a full season might produce as much as Necas at a much cheaper cap hit
On your Necas discussion, you know what they say, “Desperation yields the quickest results.”
Should have just drafted Necas instead in 2017. Gabe Vilardi probably was on Red Wings list too but he had injury issues.
But Ras had big PP numbers in the WHL, size, yet even strength goals were the concern.
This sort of Holland drafting shtick ended up getting Detroit into a talent void in hurry.
One too many ginger ales before hittin record based on that Laine take 🥴
Don't want anything to do with Laine…..unless you want another version of anthony mantha coasting around the ice giving 30% effort.
Most people also thought Seider was a reach including all of you.
Connor McDavid would join only Reggie Leach as a skater on the losing team to win the Conn Smythe. Five players, four goalies, one skater so far. And, of course, the last to do it was Giggy in 03.
I don't know that anyone's highlight reel will ever beat Datsyuk mostly because it's so varied. McDavid's is scream up the ice, turn-style a player or four while stickhandling, and put the puck exactly where he meant to. Datsyuk's is breaking Couture's ankles, pit pocketing a few guys without their knowledge, making a goalie look silly by flipping it over his head and into the net, a McDavid style highlight, etc., etc. The guy was so good in so many ways. If he had Kronwall-style hitting highlights peppered in, too, the only thing he would've lacked is goaltending highlights.
Trading anything for one-dimensional wingers that will have an AAV above $6M/yr (Ehlers, Necas, etc…) when you're unwilling to play Berggren in a scoring role is insanity. Put Burgers in a legitimate scoring role and he will get you those same 50-60+ points at a fraction of the cost.
Like the idea of getting Necas. Solves a big issue and provides quality options all through the center spots. Wingers are easier to get than Centers so would prefer Necas even if it means parting with Berggren (who I like). Berggren, Wallinder or Johansson, and a pick would be my package. The contract difference money wise would give Carolina flexibility to re-sign Guentzel. Plus, they like to be aggressive at trade deadlines so leaves more options there.
Detroit should draft either Helenius, MBN, Sennecke or Eiserman.. With Stian Solberg probably going top 15.. Detroit should have at least two of them to pick from. Unless somehow Catton or Iginla fall
Sorry Evan his sense is way above average. Did you not watch some of the goals he created .
Don’t worry about his size. This kid competes his ass off combined with high end skill.
Nobody flexes harder than brad on a podcast
Just throwing this out there, saw on the Sportsnet Broadcast that the Oilers have lost 3 straight on three different occasions this season…each time they followed with at LEAST a 5-game winning streak.
