Good deal. Can’t find many top pair RHDmen out there, and they all cost at LEAST that much. Term is a bit long but the caps gonna keep rising, so the cap Percentage will stay good or get better.

He's only 26, this is a good deal. There will not be a defenceman on the Canucks making more than Hughes

utah hockey club has 51million $ (including LTIR candidates) cap space – if they want to make a splash (with all that available money) why not steal Stamkos away from the lightning, sign the UFA veteran to a ridonculous contract that nobody else can match (i'm talkin' 15+ mill/per, bub), & make him the face of their "new" (*re-located) franchise, & captain of the team (until he retires, which will be soon)
Marner is NOT good when it MATTERS
Marner is an elite regular season player, but how big of a package is a team going to give up, for an undersized winger that wants a raise on his 11 million salary? Especially considering he is ineffective at crunch time/playoffs. I also assume marner might only agree to go to certain teams, which will further handcuff the leafs. It will be interesting to see how this plays out
