  1. I belivie the oilers can drag this to game 7
But even if they lose game 6
Just gotta say the team really surprised me I really thought they were gonna get swept and they really showed all of us why to never count the oilers out.

  2. Mcdavid is better than Gretzky and im tired of pretending otherwise, Gretzky went up to beer league equivalents Mcdavids going against 5 Gretzkys

  3. This reminds me of the habs vs canes round 2 series in 2002. 3 games in and the habs looked like they were going to dominate. Theodore looked rock solid and the canes didn't seem to have an answer… until game 4. Game 4 they eked out a win in OT and after that it seemed like the floodgates opened and they had completely solved Theodore and the series was done in a blowout. Could be the same with Bob in this series

  4. If the Oilers come back to win, their season becomes the best story of the modern era of hockey.

The series would be the perfect microcosm of their entire season — a team that everyone gave up on, rallying back to defy every logical expectation, fueled by one of the greatest players to ever lace them up and a supporting cast that never stopped believing.

  5. Looks like the Panthers haven’t found the killer instinct. They do have the “escape from danger, rabbit out of a hat” instinct, though. I wonder if, now that all the pressure is on them, they’ll actually show up in Edmonton when everyone thinks the Oilers are just going to walk them.

  6. Very good recap of the game, as usual. What bothers me though, are all those comments about the Leafs. It's over, they lost, they are losers. I was in Montréal a few days ago and the city has gone crazy supporting the Oilers, Canada's team.

  7. Said this in the watch-stream last night, but it's been nearly THIRTY YEARS since a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup (Canadians vs. Kings, 1993), and if the Oilers somehow counter-sweep the Panthers, they will have made a hell of a mark in SCF history.

Fun fact as well, since 1993, only FIVE Canadian teams have reached the SCFs, only to Lose the Cup (Canucks in 1994 vs Islanders & 2011 vs. Bruins; Oilers in 2006 vs. Hurricanes; Flames in 2004 vs. Lightning; Senators in 2011 vs. Ducks; Canadians in 2021 vs. Lightning).

  8. Was that a Steven Dangle "guarantee" that the Oilers will lose the series???? We all know what happens when you make predictions like that Steve. We still love you but well ..

  9. Will it happen? Probably not.

But if it does we are in the midst of the greatest moment in hockey history. I want everyone to understand that.

In the other major sports they have their moment, the NFL had 28-3 with Tom Brady, the NBA had 3-1 with the Lebron James, and the MLB had 3-0 with the Red Sox.

Those series were Star and league defining moments. Moments where the greatest of all time had there moment to shine. And to focus just on the NFL and NBA ones, moments where either sports “goat” defined why people say that when referring to their legacy.

If this happens, the Panthers lose the next two games, and the Oilers win. Not only will it be iconic for Edmonton winning, Canada finally winning, and a 3-0 reverse sweep. But it will be iconic for McDavid having the greatest series in NHL history, and will be talked about forever.

So please hockey gods, let this happen it would be so friggin funny.

  10. Give me 7 games plzz. We either see the biggest choke job in history of a final or see a team crawl back giving hope to just lose it anyways… grab the popcorn

  11. Edmonton is 2 wins from a cup and all Edmonton fans can talk about is Matthews. You would think they would be enjoying a Stanley cup final and their team being 2 wins from a cup. Crazy.

  12. I said after game 4: McDavid can win a game by himself, Drai can win a game by himself, and Oilers can steal a close one as a complete team. One of these things just happened. Hold on to your butts…

  13. I think game 6 will go to the Oilers. They have the momentum now.
As for the Conn Smythe, it’s pretty clear the focus has shifted from Bobrovsky to McDavid, and, really, that is completely understandable.
One thing I’d like to add, is the fact that both Connor Brown and Zach Hyman, who are playing amazing hockey for the Oilers, at one time were both Leafs, much loved by Leaf fans, who were both traded away by Kyle Dubas, to accommodate Mitch Marner’s salary demands.
Not Mitch’s fault, but so short-sighted by Dubas.

  14. Bouchard is currently 3RD all time in points as D during a single playoff run. Close to pass to 2ND all time.

  15. Dunno if you read comments but what’s the backstory on the Glasgow Clan jersey!?

I’m from Aberdeen and moved to Edmonton, I know your wife is from back home too, is she a Glasgow fan? I used to go to Clan games all the time before I moved to Canada
