PLD has bailed on every team he has ever played on going back to his junior team. I wonder if he burns the Caps like he's burned every other team he's played on? No heart. Nothing.
Great convo. I wonder whether Stuart Skinner has moved himself into the “Canada’s best goalie” discussion? I’d never have said this 4 weeks ago … but look at him now.
I actually think that the Dubois trade is fantastic for the Caps. Easy to get a goalie to replace Kemper through the UFA market, and I predict that Dubois will make this contract look great. They are paying him the kind of money that Nik Ehlers will be getting, and he could be a solid top line centre in the league throughout his prime on this contract. Upside potential is amazing for the Caps. Same next 7 years of earnings as Mark Scheifle, so let's see who earns it better. Despite a really bad year, I'd say Dubois as decent potential to outplay Scheifle over the next 7 years.
And for the Kings, they can go after a big hit in the UFA market, and there are some big names up this year and especially next year.
Makes sense for both teams.
