Everything Allvin and Rutherford have done and are continuing to do is confidence inspiring.

This guy is insane… at drawing penalties
1.94 minor penalties drawn per 60 over the last 3 seasons, next best is 0.89
Also great he costs the same as Juulsen
nihilism_ftw
Well at least he admits the model is broken on this. Highly doubt Friedman is anywhere near that valuable

Just watched Moneyball the other day… I wonder how much of that kinda model is used for the management group
VeryLastChance
Pretty much everything you want from a depth 7/8D. He’s competent enough, good locker room guy, and surprisingly versatile (played games as LD, RD and forward last year)
He doesn’t bring enough upside to the table to want him as a full-time roster player but he’s perfect to fill in for injuries

Drawing penalties in the minors is a success metric as reliable as the sunrise.

More ex-penguins on the Canucks, next one Jack Guentzel and maybe Geno ?

If we’re going all out on Guentzel, then these are the types of signings (ie. Friedman) that will push us over the top.
CJK_420
I honestly thought he was good as a depth piece last season.

With how many penalties he draws, Friedman is the real D-Petey.
nelsonmuntzz
Did he get hurt last year or did we not play him a lot because we had better options?
oops_i_made_a_typi
Unfortunately the JFresh card for Hronek isn’t as rosy, painting a decline over his previous years. Hopefully the model is just attributing too much to Hughes and not enough to Hronek.

I have liked every game he’s played, dude makes no mistakes
DisplacedNovaScotian
Makes total sense. He works as a depth defender. And the contract has no risk. If we stop playing him, we can walk away.

So basically if we have 5 marks we will be on the powerplay 24/7?

Best D man in franchise history
Wasn’t he benched because of fitness reasons?
