So the question becomes, who would be 3C? I have no problem with the idea, just would be interested in his replacement.

I’d take it with a grain of salt coming from Seravalli, but if they need to shed money he’d probably be a prime candidate. I like Colton as a player but his offensive limitations were laid pretty bare in the Dallas series (along with the rest of the bottom six).

If they traded Manson they would have no size on the blue line, and would have to find a way to replace both that and his minutes on the second pair.

It all obviously depends on what Mitts and Drouin are asking, but some sort of cap dump wouldn’t surprise me.

Moving RossCo would be a mistake in my opinion. I don’t see how the team could find a cheaper alternative that wouldn’t be a considerably worse player or take our top picks and prospects to acquire.

I like Colton but if you want to make a Denver Omelette, you gotta break some eggs

I don’t buy it. We finally have center depth locked up for years after 2ish years of having holes down the middle.

Why ruin that? Centers don’t grow on trees. I’d much rather tinker elsewhere.

I think trading in for a cheaper better defensive option at 3c might be in order now that we have casey locked in at 2c. It was one thing before aquiring casey to have Ross there with ryjo at 2c and hoping he could potentially make a jump to 2c if needed. We don’t need that now though. Missing val and landeskog, two elite defensive wingers is going to hurt. Getting a lock down 3c might be nessasary to help steady things, and you already have 2 zoomers playing on the 3rd line wings anyways who can skate and create some offense for themselves. 4.1 is a lot to pay for a 3c, especially if he isn’t great all the time on the defensive side of the puck.

On the other hand I would personally much rather tinker in goal to significantly improve our teams defense. To me having a mistake eraser back there especially with our roster construction now would pay for itself multiple times over again. Not a shot at AG either.

  7. Seems more plausible we move either Girard or Manson. Having $10m-ish tied up to our middle 6 is rough.

It could make sense to look at trading Mikko for a bunch of depth. He could end up being a FA causality regardless and he’s gonna cost a lot to resign.

I haaaaaaaate this. The energy he brings, his goal celebrations, the roaring 20’s line – winning a cup with tampa – the guy is huge for any cup run we have in the near future (which i think we got at least one more in us)

99% of players in the league are on the trade block in one way or another, and you throw « Avalanche » in the title is good clickbait, has been for years.
