Heck of a career for Cogs, such a great example of how guys can carve out a lasting role in the league through relentless effort. He’ll be missed!

Always brought the energy on the PK and a great team leader. Thank you for everything COGS!

Glad he is still gonna be with us off the ice

I remember that 11th hour trade for Cogliano and then he finally got a Cup. Nothing but hustle and he was indestructible, man. So glad to hear he’s staying with the Avs. He will be missed on the ice.

Thanks for everything Cogs! Trooper on the ice.

Welcome to the office, Cogs. The fans will miss seeing your face every night,

  10. Scotty_Two

Hopefully the next player to wear number 11 for the Avs keeps the tradition of being loved like Cogs and Matty Hustle

What a legendary Avs warrior. Thanks for the memories Cogs! I’m gonna cry 😢

fucker at the end was completely washed with a gas tank runnin on E…as you should after all that. yet somehow was still serviceable. left nothing on the table. the son of a bitch played with a broken neck. blocked so many shots that the next new shade of purple discovered should be called « violet cogliano ».

enjoy the ring and the comfy front office chair. they were earned.

  13. Cogsyyyy

Fun fact: my last name starts with “Cog” and I was always called “Cogs” or “Cogsy” mostly when I was younger and playing sports. As far I’m concerned, Cogliano is an Avs legend and will never truly be replaced. One of the many important pieces that got the Avs their 3rd cup in 2022 and an absolute DAWG on every shift he took. ( not to be confused with THE DAWG of course, Nathan Mackinnon) The man played a game with a broken neck for Christ sake! Every time he would go down and it would look like a season ending hit/ injury…. Nope Cogs is out there on the next shift like nothing ever happened. Dude must have rubber bones or something. (Except that one bone in his neck) Super excited to hear he’ll be staying with the organization in some capacity.

One last time: Cogs is a fucking warrior.

  15. zestfullybe

Cogs was nothing but hustle and I don’t recall many players that got as absolutely consistently beat up and he did and just pop back up and go hustle some more. He just kept going. What a warrior.

  16. fyurious

Total fucking warrior, such an inspiration. Thank you Cogs for being a heart and soul guy for us the last 2.5 seasons!

  17. Cogliano was a magnificent Av, we don’t win it all without his blood, sweat, and his legendary motivational speech to the boys. Enjoy retirement Cogs, may your second career as an exec be as successful as your career on the ice!

  18. Dan_Rogla

    He will be missed.

Great leader, good person, and hell of a tough hockey player.

One of my favorite recent pickups and that line with Cogs and Helm was just a bring your lunch pail and hard hat get it done group. No one was outworking them.

  19. CicatrizTMV

I’ll always remember Cog’s contributions to the 2022 cup win. That speech he gave seemed to really spark the guys, and for that I’ll remain forever grateful. Just a beauty on and off the ice and tough as nails to boot.

    Stick taps for Cogs \_ \_ \_

  20. CovertOwl

This is the best case scenario for him

  21. Mess-Severe

Fuck I really wanted him to stay on.

Thanks for the cup, looking forward to your next step in your career!

  22. likesexonlycheaper

Aww damn this makes me sad. Dude worked his ass off every shift. We’ll miss his energy for sure

  23. Loved him during his short stint with the Sharks. I always thought it was unfair when he got suspended and it ruined his ironman streak.

  24. Happykittykattt

    I’m not crying, YOU’RE crying!

    Love you forever Cogs 🫶
