I’m an Oilers fan but I feel the Panther’s frustration. I think both teams are evenly matched and it is appropriate that they are playing in game 7 for the cup. That the Panthers almost swept the Oilers does not reflect reality. That the Oilers won 3 games in a row to force game 7 also resides somewhere in the Twilight Zone. None of this matters now. The universe is righting itself and the Super Bowl is on Monday. May the best team win.

Still can't figure out why people are surprised that they got dominated, spanked, schooled, humbled and given a reality check in terms of their own, perceived superiority. The Oilers have been doing this to a lot of teams, especially down the stretch and into the playoffs. Bottom line is they are getting out classed and I for one don't see them finding the answers in time.. They, along with their part-time fanbase, are getting a glimpse into The Oilers history, pride, character and the reason they were able to rattle off numerous winning streaks, including the "statement" 16 game run. The fact that they can't bring themselves, as an organization, to admit or acknowledge that they are getting outplayed speaks volumes.
" getting their shit together" as you suggested is a good start, but honestly.. does anybody really think they can somehow derail this machine and walk away with The Cup? The oilers have been trending upward pretty steeply while the Panthers have been doing the opposite. Game seven may see a hard push from them as you would expect on home ice, but I believe they will get lit up again.
Time will tell whether they can stop the bleeding or whether this truly is destined. Lets Go Oilers.
