When you play in Carolina, Florida, or Tennessee, you keep more of your money.
I live about thirty minutes from PNC arena so I’ve seen a lot of him play . Pesce is a beast
I like Pesce replacing Marino, but the added salary, even with a swap out, is a concern – especially when NJ has a more pressing need at LD with an active opening. I'd be happy to acquire Dillon or Walker bc of that, while also contributing some grit. Skjei would be great, but lacks the sandpaper, will cost a lot, and is the bell of the ball. Lots of good RDs out there 7/1, though – we'll see what Fitz does.

To be fair I'm not up to speed on the defensive players at the moment but wouldn't it be a kick in the taint to Ranger fans if the Devils signed Lindgren. I'm not saying he would fit or anything like that. I'm talking purely hypothetical how it would incense the Ranger fans to see him cross the Hudson for New Jersey. HAH! That made me smile.

This better be just smoke ! Getting Pecsi makes not much sense . Allocating $$$ for both Hamilton & then Pecsi plus paying Nemec in a couple yrs is way too much . Plus then they got to get rid of Marino. They really need to get two Defensive left handed Dmen . If they do get rid of Marino , they got the luxury of moving Luke to the right side . Thinking Zanderoff , Brenden Dylan … 3rd pairing return of Kulikov

i like zadorov but is he a top pairing guy? ( hes had like one season over 19 mins in chicago)
skjei will get overpaid
and every one else id say isnt really a big upgrade so i feel like that last defensive peice needs to come via trade
i have no idea the availability of these guys but im hammering for guys like jonas brodin marcus pettersson kaiden guhle etc
however i realistically think that making playoffs will not be a problem so id atleast maybe see if siegenthaler can be the shutdown guy we all remember he was and if hes not just go for a D at the deadline.
i think adding physicality and veteran leadership throughout our forward core and finishing that out is the most pressing issue for this offseason

every line has atleast one tough "sandpaper" guy thats annoying to play against + there is 4 and possibly soon to be 5 cups added to the roster with those moves
If Fitzy can get him at an affordable cost, then I'm all for getting Pesce. However, I think another team is going to throw a lot of money at him and that's where he's going to end up. I know I reflect a lot of people's opinion by saying that Zadorov is my #1 defenseman target as not only would he fit exactly what NJ needs on the backend, but there was already mutual interest before he got traded to Vancouver. He might be easier to sway towards coming to the Devils and shouldn't cost a fortune to get him.
Pesce would not be a mistake. I just consider him an option.
I believe our future success comes from brutal shut down defense with fast forechecking and high scoring offense, backstopped by very solid tending.
The pieces are coming in. I will see what Fitz puts together.
If we go for Pesce then it is highly unlikely we get Zadorov which saddens me.
What are your thoughts on Rutger McGroarty being on the block? Young power forward who throws the body. Might be our of our timeline though. If it just cost Casey, Holtz and a pick it might he worth it.
I don't mind Pesce at all, I'd prefer Brady Skjei to be honest. Zadorov has to be the number one target though 😎
Pesce would be such a good addition but I have a feeling that so many teams will be in on him that he's going to sign a deal that is worth more $$ than he might be worth.
For what he gets we could probably land two of Dillon, Tanev and Zadorov.
Atleast getting him off Carolina and hopefully out of the Metro will be a positive for us
Being 17 watching the devils is not always that easy to watch especially sloppy defending lead to goal against. It’s was a lot shouting and banging man. 2023/24 will always be known as frustrating season.
Pesce would be great. Dillon, Zadorov, Skjei as well. As you say, lots of good d-men available but we HAVE to get one or two of them.
