Je ne me souviens pas des mots exacts, mais c’est tout de suite que j’ai remarqué, dans l’une de ses premières interviews en podcast, qu’il avait dit quelque chose du genre « si » nous utilisons le 4ème choix global.
Personnellement, si nous obtenons une bonne affaire, foncez. Nous avons déjà suffisamment de prospects, à moins que Levshunov ne nous tombe dessus, et Silayev pourrait être un peu à portée de main à 4. Toujours au sujet de notre noyau actuel, nos 2 joueurs les plus importants, Johnny aura bientôt 31 ans et Zach 27. Je ne veux pas continuer à attendre des développements sur 2-3 ans et ne pas être compétitif jusqu’à ce que ces 2 soient en déclin/ne soient plus performants.
Mon échange de rêve, s’il était plausible, serait d’acquérir Kyle Connor de Winnipeg, et maintenant le probable Rutger disponible. Les deux garçons du Michigan qui ont joué avec plusieurs des nôtres, dès l’enfance de Connor et Werenski. Cependant, je ne pense pas que le 4ème serait suffisant pour les deux, et un autre élément important que je pourrais gérer en partant est KJ. Maintenant, je sais que cela contredit ce que je viens de dire, mais même en regardant un seul match de Brindley, il semblait plus confiant/à l’aise que j’ai jamais vu Kent, du moins en ce qui concerne la gestion de zone et une menace de jeu. Connor serait une grande menace de but et un rajeunissement possible pour Johnny, qui, nous l’avons clairement vu, avait besoin de ses meilleurs coéquipiers pour revenir à ses habitudes à Calgary. J’espère également que Connor signera à nouveau avec ses liens étroits et son amitié. Rutger est également un attaquant intransigeant avec un potentiel offensif, et nous n’avons pas vraiment cela à part Boone qui n’est efficace/agressif qu’au-dessus de la ligne rouge centrale. Cela fait un moment que nous n’avons pas eu de véritable joueur ou défenseur difficile à marquer (qui peut réellement suivre le jeu @ Gudbranson).

Personally it’s the time to commit, though it has been since I started following Columbus.
Let the young guys grow with the 4th round pick or trade it away along with guys that aren’t working to hopefully build a playoff team for 2026.
I’m very much in the camp of not trading, waiting for the Elvis contract to be done and letting older guys with Johnny to teach the young core and when it is time go all in. Going in now is imo short sighted
every team should be open to trading any pick outside of a Bedard or McDavid type prospect.
I think going all in on Zach and Johnny’s window would be foolishly shortsighted. They aren’t our actual core: fantilli, mateychuk, jiricek, etc are.
I’m not opposed to trading back or making a move that helps support that group in the long term. Otherwise, I want them to make the pick (so long as it isn’t Buium or Lindstrom).
One trade I did see talking heads throw about is 4ov and Laine no retention for 5ov from Montreal. Not sure how I feel about that, but it’s certainly one of the *less* damaging Laine trades I’ve seen.
You need to go back and watch KJ s first season .. Vincent for whatever reason didn’t have KJ carrying the puck, didn’t utilize him on the power play with Gaudreau .. Winnipeg is in a position to win now and I’m pretty sure came out saying they are trying to compete. There’s zero chance they trade away their best forward for a pick and prospect they hope will be as productive as what they already have in Connor.
